Where do you go to find the tickets online?  I didn’t see a link on the Holmes site if anybody could help me out?

Just to clarify, during the regular season , Holmes took cash at the door for football and basketball, many places we traveled to on the road did not, so I am guessing this is a decision made by the folks in charge of hosting it, not Holmes.

One of the biggest gripes about this whole situation is that the 10th region faithful will not heavily attend the games in Covington. So how do schools in the 10th make money from this event? Online tix only is a good way to make that happen. At the end of the day this tournament is about the kids. But let’s be honest, it’s also about money. If I choose to watch I know that no one will take my parking spot, my seat, and the popcorn is free.

Am I correct in thinking Campbell County is the host school?

And I’m not thinking of folks like Parker and Can’tpick who have eleventy billion dollars they can access via debit card.  I’m thinking of the 16 or 17 year old high-schoolers who want to support their team who may not have such resources. 

I literally haven’t bought a ticket at the door for an event in several years. Online ticketing is way better than needing to have cash on hand and standing in line to buy a ticket in person. I’ve even seen middle schools do online ticketing only. Kids have phones and buy stuff online every day…kids will be just fine purchasing tickets online. If kids aren’t showing up, it’s not because of online ticketing.

Per the 10th Region Basketball Tournament Guidelines distributed at the draw meeting Saturday morning.

"Price of Admission  $7 (plus processing fee).  All tickets will be sold electronically on the Campbell County High School GoFan page or GoFan App. (htps://gofan.co/app/school/KY6306).  No cash purchase option will be available at the gate.  There will be a credit card or phone app purchase option at the gate, however, the most efficient manner of ticket purchase is online or through the phone app in advance.  Doors for each game will open 45 minutes prior to the start of the game."

Also "All Boys 10th Region Basketball Tournament games will be livestreamed at a cost of $10 per game (Go.PrepSpin.com)  Profits from livestreaming the event will be included in the tournament shares.

Interestingly, at the 10th Region GIRLS Tournament at Nicholas County, they are accepting GoFan and CASH, but no credit cards.

Thanks, I thought there would be the credit card option, as Campbell County has had that all year.

It’s an entire host district, not a school. I guess in a way Campbell is, but so are Brossart, Scott and Calvary.

All 4 37th district schools are 'in charge of different aspects of the tournament. Example, the official scorer, PA announcer, and game manager is Scott. One school is in charge of parking and facilities, one school in charge of media, etc. 

Side note: The official scorer is Diana Meade. She has been the official scorer for Scott boys for the past 25 years, worked for Simon Kenton before that and is retiring after this season. Awesome that she will be ending her career at the 10th region tournament.

If the average attendance for the next 3 years exceeds Holmes capacity they won’t be able to have it there. (I don’t remember the exact numbers, but Holmes was already close to under…)

 

But If this year ranks the average? We’ll be back in Covington.

 

If they want to avoid this again, the 10th region faithful will pack the place out, and then pack out the next 2 tournaments as well.

Diane is a fixture at Scott, working through the Ken Mueller (AD) era, and is always prominent at sporting events conducted on campus at Scott High School.

Ironically, she is a member of the 10th Region Hall of Fame.
