This is the second time I've seen this take. I thought he did a good job of thanking them when he left New England, so that thank you was already satisfied.

Not buying that… but, word is he is planning to sign a one day contract tomorrow and officially retire as a Patriot.

  • The GOAT. Like him or not, love him or hate him, the best that ever was.

  • That's my thought too. Not discounting his ability or what he's accomplished, but I do feel that he landed in the perfect situation.

I was really hoping he'd go ahead and just come back for one more year after the news of his retirement broke without him being the one to break it and then he win another Super Bowl.

What is the deal with that? I know a lot of people do it but I don't understand the purpose.

I think its just symbolic.

Why do I keep thinking Brady will show up next year in a different uniform?

Maybe or maybe not, but I'm sure somebody will be giving him a call from a high profile team if that team's star quarterback goes down with injury.  TB might be looking for a quick and dirty way to hoist another trophy without having to go through an entire season of wear and tear.

What a career, Tom Brady is definitely the GOAT in my mind.

I did find the lack of New England love interesting.

Hopefully 20 years from now we are debating if Tom Brady or Joe Burrow is the GOAT.

Mike Brown will make this an easy pick, Brady.

Hopefully this year is a huge sign times are changing.

You would have to hope, but I doubt it.

I think a QB will get injured on a top team next year and Brady will come back.

He is the GOAT!

Why? Everything over the last two years has shown he has changed in a lot of ways from how he previously has done things. Including allowing others to make more of the decisions.

He is still holding the purse strings and it will take more than two years for Borrow to put up the numbers that Brady has.

He has changed his ways the last couple of years, and now has seen the team make the Super Bowl because of it. He is now about to also have a packed stadium every Sunday with all the people who will now buy season tickets too. Very little chance he is going to change back to the old ways, when he has seen this is successful.  Plus he will know he will have to keep trying to win, because Burrow will demand that. Or else he would try to leave like Palmer and no way would Mike Brown want to risk that. Burrow single handily is going to get them major improvements to the stadium and shoot who knows possibly even a new stadium if the Bengals win the Super Bowl this year and possibly start a dynasty.

As for Burrow and Brady, obviously  it’s going to take a lot to put up the same numbers and have the same success as Brady lol. I mean Brady literally won 4 Super Bowls after the age of 37. Who knows if Burrow will even play that long, since most don’t. Now Burrow does have a chance to completely change this franchise and make it one of the top franchises in the league much like Brady did with the Patriots. Before Brady, the Patriots were very similar to the Bengals.

Actually I hope you're correct, but history points in the other direction. This isn't the first Big Dance for the Bengals, still waiting for the dynasty. Mr. Brown is not your average NFL owner, and yes, he will have a hard time keeping Burrow in a Bengal uniform.  I do wish them the best of luck moving forward.
