Mitch Trubisky signs a 2 year deal.  A step up (or two) from Mason Rudolph...but, doesn't scare me the way Deshaun Watson would have.

Considering the Bengals have to play the Steelers twice a year I am happy about them signing Trubisky.

He has 29 wins as a starter and 64 passing tds.

He may do well in Pittsburgh with more around him but I think he is a step down from Big Ben so I will take it. 

Time to see if the problem was Trubisky or the Bears.   I'm betting it was a mixture of both.   With Mitch, I get the feeling they are about that same as they were with Ben the last couple of seasons.

I am excited I think he will do great with all the weapons he has on offense. 

I don't know why but I was hoping to see Trubisky get another chance.

NFL.com and Sporting News both have the Steelers taking Desmond Ridder with their first round pick... (tried telling @Carl Spackler in the Bama-UC thread months ago that Ridder would end up in a lot of first round mocks after being evaluated at the Combine, Senior Bowl, and Pro Day)

 Quarterbacks are always at a premium in the NFL draft. I have seen Ridder in the top 5 QB's by the analysts so a first round pick is most likely.

Correct on the premium part but just because he is a top 5 QB (most have him in that 4/5 slot), that doesn't make it likely. I went back the last 10 years to see how many QBs were drafted in the first round. The high was 5 last season in what most considered to be a strongish QB class. No other year had 5 QBs selected. The low was 1 in 2013. The average is 3.2.

I'll be extremely surprised if Ridder doesn't go in the first round. 

Have seen him as high as #8 to the Falcons (PFF) and as low as #32 to Detroit. Most seem to think he goes to New Orleans at #16 or Pittsburgh at #20. 

I think Matt Corral not going in the first round is more likely than Ridder not going in the first round. A lot of buzz around him in NFL circles right now and he's closer to QB1 than he is QB 4/5. 

 

Steelers are high on Ridder they spent alot of time with him in Cincinnati and took him to Jeff Ruby's for dinner.
