With the exception of Boyle Co, having to play a cupcake schedule will bite FD in the rear again. I get it's out of there control who they play during the regular season, but proven in the past once they hit the hardest playoff opponent(s), they fold. I could be wrong this season, but SW is just to sound of a ball team to get rattled by FD.  

South Warren's schedule isn't that great either.  Usually it would be really good but North Hardin, Bowling Green, Central were all down.  The Woodford County win was good, but so was Freddie beating Owensboro.  Tremendous defenses on both sides.  Mr. Smith is a phenomenal coach and I put a huge amount of stock in that.  That said, I won't be surprised who wins this game.  I'll lean to Freddie D getting their championship.

If FD wins it would shock me more than any other team winning a title this weekend. It’s not impossible but very unlikely. I’m going to say SW by 28 or more. 

I'm really interested in the LB matchup between SW and FD. I know both teams have great defenses, but I think the contrast in linebacker play might be what is most different. South's LBs are much more aggressive. I believe that Burton and Snell from SW are probably the most under-rated LBs in the state.  For perspective, in the last 4 games, Snell has had 29 tackles, 8 TFL and a couple sacks. In those same 4 games, Burton has had 23 tackles, 5 TFL and 2 sacks. Looking at the last 4 games for FD, Caden Johnson had 19 tackles and no sacks. I don't see anything for Joyner. I know both of them are the top ranked LBs in the state.

First question, has Joyner been hurt? Will he be playing Saturday?

Secondly, FD's defense must be much different than South's. Do they not rush LBs nearly as much? It seems like they might be more pass focused.

No he had season ending knee surgery before the end of the regular season plus they have been with out one additional linebacker in each of their first 3 playoff games I do think all their linebackers other than Joyner will be there on Saturday. 

I’ll take the South Warren Fighting Smiths in a good game 21 - 14.

South Warren puts a running clock on FD.

This will be a good indication whether the Boyle loss was accurate or not about how good Frederick Douglass is.  Are they truly for real or are they all about the hype.

I think South Warren is clicking too much right now and overwhelms FD. I've seen South play twice this year and they looked on another level both games.
