Voice of Reason
I heard at the Dixie game last Friday that Coach Brossart is considering leaving as head coach. Anyone else hearing that? Is there a successor on staff that Coach Brossart would like to see follow him?

I have talked to a couple of people in the last week that both told me there is talk circulating that this may be Coach Brossart's last year at Dixie. Nothing concrete, but that "rumor" is definitely making the rounds around NKY.
TheConch
Wow. I wonder what the reason is. I like Brossart and think he has done a fine job. Hope all is well with him and his family. I hate this came out for the kids sake, even if true. We know these kids read such info and nothing more demoralizing to hear that head coach may be leaving, especially when Dixie has a really good team this year! Wow. My understanding is that some of the players have been told this. Being a head football coach is demanding on many levels. If this is true, Coach Brossart wouldn't be the 1st person to leave coaching earlier than expected.

Definitely, no one knows that time these coaches put in unless they’ve done it, had a spouse do it, or have been around it.

Totally true. If true, this is clearly a loss to high school sports and young men in the NKY area. Wins or losses aside, by all accounts, Coach Brossart was a strong leader of young men. Unfortunately, as I, and a lot of others, have said in previous threads, good coaches getting out of the industry is only going to happen more often with the current culture of parents and administrators. That is probably fitted more for a separate thread. However, with that said, if this is the end for Coach Brossart, thank you for what you have done for young men in the nky/cincy area! You’ve impacted so many young men in a positive way.
The Raven
The days of a people willing to dedicate 20-40 years of their life to coaching are, for the most part, gone. It's highly stressful and too much time away from family is never a good thing. If coach Brossart knows it's time, then it's time. And there's never an easy way to break that news to kids. If this is the last season of him at the helm for Dixie, better to let the higher ups know now so they can start to plan for next year and beyond ASAP. I don't have any info on whether or not Coach Brossart has any intent on stepping down, but I do know he and Dixie's athletic director Derek Bosse are really close. They've coached together since Brossart's time at Cov Cath. I would have to imagine Derek is as well informed as anyone aside from Coach Brossart.
nees1212
Last I heard, he planned to remain at Dixie through the 2026 season (2027 graduating class). I was told he has a nephew in the 7th grade that he wanted to coach in high school. However, life changes.
Miller
My two cents, for what it's worth. If this turns out to be true, we, as individuals, know what is best for us and our family. The demands on the head coach (of any sport) are many and I just don't see them lessening any time soon. Add the restrictions and frustrations that COVID has introduced to the everyday norm, I could see why now would be a good time to get out, especially with graduating a very good class after this season. There is so much that someone could do with the 5-6 months that football coaches dedicate to their team. If he chooses to hang it up, then kudos to him for choosing that. He has given much, and has earned the chance to spent his time living the life he wishes.
