Okay so I have to ask, have heard for three years the frosh teams were more than solid, yet when transitioning to varsity football something happens.  What is it?

From 3-0 and talk of being back, to now finding solace in a big JV win over Conner!!

My how the mood of this season has changed in 4 weeks!!

Maybe now that they have that big piece of wood to get excited about, things might get better when Highlands kids move up from freshman to jv and varsity.

I know I'm not a high schooler. I don't get turnover chains or wrestling belts, and don't even get me started on how little sense carrying sledge hammers around makes, but the garbage can Highlands had was really really dumb, and Sphire managed to one-up that with the stick.

Some of you are missing the gist of my prior post.

I said that Kentucky football is better when HHS is relevant.  Not dominant.  If any team goes from irrelevant to relevant - particularly a past powerhouse - that elevates the state of pigskin in the Bluegrass.

In the last alignment cycle, the Board (not all) & many “donors” were against it due to travel expenses for the 4A district & they were not going to look like they were running from Cov Cath as a district game.  What’s changed?

It is true that Rome was not built in a day and old habits die hard.  Very disappointed in how things have steadily gone downhill since the McNick game.  Seeing a lot of the same things that were evident the last few years.  Tackling is awful and special teams are non-existent.  The level of enthusiasm and hustle that were evident the first four weeks has fizzled.  There is work to be done and I might suggest rather than worry about CovCath, you start worrying about next game on the schedule.  CovCath has not been the team holding Highlands down.   As for tonight, why do you punt with 4 minutes to go in game down 8?  Why do you go for two when you score go ahead touchdown?  Why do you not load the box and take away the rpo?  Just some questions I have from the cheap seats.

I believe the previous coach was in favor of moving to the correct class. I would imagine the current coach has the powers to be ears this time. The travel expenses claim always makes me chuckle. Those district games would be 3-4 trips a season. They went to BOWLING GREEN this year. It's a perception thing that the move to the correct class lessens their program. Look at the schedules of their teams in other sports....they move around the state. As for Cov Cath, they will still be more than happy to schedule them. Just my opinion.
