How did Cov Cath lose a game this year?

I know you are trying to make a point, but CovCath did not lose to an instate team this year. The losses were to Elder (early in the season, before they had some key injuries), Cincy X, and Columbus Bishop Watterson (a solid Ohio DII team who CovCath played the week after a tough loss to Cincy X).

Trinity fans are excited about their matchup with Cincy X next year, but CovCath has played the Bombers 3 times in the last 4 years.

NCC only had one, and he is signed and going to the University of Louisville to play football. I'd say he deserved to be on the team, by you including NCC in your rant above, you are questioning the choice of this kid, and surely you wouldn't do that. I assure you he blongs on this team.

Rant-v-To speak or write in an angry or violent manner; rave: nViolent or extravagant speech or writing.

Perhaps the wrong criticism, unless you were using rant as the chiefly British "wild or uproarious merriment" and viewed my humble post in this vein.

It always a concern when LSURock agrees with me (it probably worries him more :D ). Indeed, I refrained from attacking individual selections by design. Perhaps, though, I can offer some alternates I saw play that, IMHO, may have passed muster for all-state selection:Tim Hugley (Central); Sam Webb (Male); Dane Spoelker and Sam Robey (Trinity); Justin Collins (Western); Ronnie McDermott (Holy Cross); Maurice Coleman (Butler).

No knock meant on your school or your local area NCCalum. I just point out that it is an aberration that about 25% of the team comes from about a 20 mile radius of the area that BGP is located. Your response somewhat proves my point: you stepped up to strongly defend the one player chosen, ironically, from your school.

No I'm merely saying, rip on 5 from CovCath. Fine. I'd probably agree with you.

But to include the one NCC guy and the one Highlands guy in there is not fair.

We're just one big happy family up in here in NKY...

I think Louisville has 8 players, (7 from Jefferson County and one from Oldham). You forgot Joe Scott from Central and Joe Gamsky from South Oldham.

A banner day - I agree with CentreRocks and LSURock on the same day in the same post.

I consider Jefferson County and Louisville as one and the same, and do not consider Oldham County as the same. However, in my haste I overlooked Joe Scott, and Central is definitely in Jefferson County. Although your posts are occasionally a bit cryptic, I take it that you viewed the BGP team as flawed in the manner I described?

Now you no how we feel with the AP and the Courier Journal garbage they put out every year......NKY gets the old screw job more often than not with those two......

Congrats on your all-world "Harbin Cow" status. The Rocks didn't lose in state either yet CovCath has two and a half times as many players as Trinity. BTW, I'll get excited about your out of state schedule when you actually beat an Ohio Powerhouse.

Well, I know who I'll be rooting for next year when the Rocks are in Cincy.

BTW, CovCath has beaten Moeller.

Oh darn, and we were so depending on your support.

Good effort but it just goes to show you how difficult these All-State teams are to pick - and this year especially!

On a side note, the central player that should have been on the list was Tim Huguley. Ask Pulaski Southwestern if he was any good! Joe Scott wasn't even among the top five on his team. And that's not a knock on the kid, he just didn't have a great season and the coach has even said so.

Very good list BGP! It's funny to hear all the screaming from a few spoiled fans. They seem to think their team should dominate the lists, just because they live in an area where their own media heaps praise on them, whether it's deserved or not! This isn't the CJ poll, and it is much more objective. No one could seriously raise an objection to any of the players on the team. I think people should try to get over their petty regional jealousies and just accept that all of these young men deserve the honor they've received.

1st Team All District, 1st Team Associated Press, 1st Team Courier-Journal, yet not even an "Athlete on your team....... I guess you guys have it all figured out! :thumb:

Instead of complaining that this is geographically biased, why not make some comparisons to those that did make the team as opposed to those who did not.

Not just by saying oh well so and so should have made it, list why. Then maybe you'd have some ground to stand on.

I don't even live in your area; but I know they play good football up there, and the number of state titles that have gone to those teams proves it.

The insulting tone of your post isn't deserved or appreciated. No one is asking for domination of lists. In fact they are questioning the domination of the list. I (as well as others) have not dismissed any of the kids that made the team, they didn't choose themselves. I am of the opinion that it is not as well done as the other polls.

VERY well deserved! This great thing about this list is that it isn't concerned with spreading the wealth evenly or awarding players just because they're necessarily from a powerhouse school. Once again, good job BGP! :thumb:
