And outside of Graves County, the rest of Mayfield’s schedule is garbage.

This discussion does not help Mayfield. Every point you are making about Beechwood's schedule applies to Mayfield as well. Mayfield has played one good team - Graves County. The schedules for both are mirror images of quality or lack of quality.

Also, you are selling Paintsville short. They are 2-2 and their 2 losses are to Beechwood  and Pikeville, the #1 teams in 1A and 2A. They will be a final four team in 1A, perhaps even return to the title game.

The advancement in the ability to watch games online is wonderful, and it allowed me the ability to watch Mayfield and Beechwood games. 

From someone who has no dog in this fight, Beechwood looked superior to Mayfield in games I watched. Beechwood just seems better than Mayfield at this point. Mayfield looked good, but it was far from a team I think beats Beechwood. 

LCA's opponent record to date is 15-9 (5 of the losses come from Belfry which isn't typical for them). If you add in this week with Pikeville the record is 20-9. They have played and beat the #1 ranked team in 4A, the #1 ranked team in 3A, the #2 ranked team in 4A and will face the #1 ranked team in 1A this week. Not to mention beating a 6A Madison Central team that is surprising everyone at this point.

I like them being number 2 - keeps them hungry lol. Also, I think you keep your seat at the throne until someone knocks you off if it in most cases.

I've been watching games for over 50 years. I think I have some knowledge about this. Mayfield will go toe to toe with Beechwood.

I don't go with the throne. Every year your team is different.

I was shocked last year that West Carter about beat Beechwood. Mayfield is way better than West Carter.

Credit to West Carter but that was far from Beechwood's best.  And the 2021 Tigers are easily 21 points better than the 2020 Tigers. 

All I know is that if Mayfield holds that #2 spot in the RPI playing them in November at War Memorial is not an easy task.  Most cases you are down 14 points before the opening kickoff.

I’m pretty sure nobody said they couldn’t go toe to toe with them.

I’m sure it’s tough to win there but ask Murray about that last year.
