CCH should be at full strength for this game, but that will a Friday night decision on at least two of the starters who missed the scrimmage.

When it comes to GCL vs. Cov Cath, you could definitely say that things lean in the GCL's favor ?

The GCL currently has 30 wins to Cov Cath's 4, and the GCL South (Elder, LaSalle, Moeller, St. X) has 25 wins to Cov Cath's 3. In the late 60s and 70s, the games against GCL teams were played out of necessity. Most Northern Kentucky public school coaches - with the exception Newport, Highlands, Boone County and Harrison County - boycotted scheduling Cov Cath. Then in the 1990s, Cov Cath sought out a game against Moeller each year to stand as a major challenge for the team prior to district play. Even if it meant for a loss on the schedule, having that single bruiser of a game developed the teams in a lot a ways. Then once the '00s rolled around, my personal opinion is that things got a little out of hand with scheduling. Case in point: 2005. We had Moeller, Cincy St. X, and Columbus Bishop Watterson all within a 5 week stretch. Absolutely bananas.

I remember this one, vividly.    This one was played the Friday after 9/11 (RIP Willie).   CCH was scheduled to play Ryle.  Ryle cancelled the game and held a peace service at the school.  LaSalle and CCH hastily put together a game and the Colonels went to LaSalle and picked up an afterthought win.

Im going with the Colonels in this one but I am voting with my heart and not my head...  Elder has a full offensive squad and a full defensive squad.  I think conditioning might work against us in this one as CCH will be playing several key players both ways.  Gonna be close in the first half but it will be very tough to be competitive the full game in the Pit. Running back for Elder is super quick and fast and makes people miss.  QB has a good arm and seems to make good decisions when he has time to throw.  

 

If CCH is completely healthy then I think it should be closer than 42-14, but like 92Rebel I was voting in the poll with my heart and not my head.

It definitely stings a little looking at them all in one list like that, but I think a lot of those losses were valuable developmental lessons to a lot of teams.

If they were playing in a month, I'd like it to be closer, but this one gets out of hand early.  

A loss means nothing, so hopefully Eddie can figure some things out about his team tonight so they can build towards the real prize.  

Hopefully the Colonels can avoid some post-GCL game injuries that have bit them in the past.   Stay healthy, learn about your kids / team, and build off the cool experience (the outcome I expect notwithstanding).

This is definitely a possibility. Especially if the guys that were out last week are still out or aren’t 100%.

That was first year for coach Eviston at CCH.  The program was in transition that year. Eviston has built a nice program now so don’t count them out.  It will be closer than what some are saying on this message board.
