The Little Caesar’s Fort Harrod Bowl in Mercer County kicks off with the 2020 4A Champions Boyle County taking on 6A Tates Creek. The 2020 season went exactly the opposite for each team. Creek struggled going 0-6 and losing to Dunbar 20-23 in the first round. Boyle went undefeated on their way to their most recent State Championship.
Look for Boyle to reload not rebuild in 2021. They lost a couple key pieces from last years squad but also return enough to be one of the early favorites to win 4A once again.
The Commodores return just about everyone from last years squad so experience should help them to a more successful 2021 season. 6A football in Lexington hasn’t had one dominant team for a long while, can Creek use their experience to their advantage and make a run starting with Boyle County?

Boyle early in the year will be figuring out who the go to guys will be besides Cole Lanter who is a given.  It may take a few games to see who else will be the go to guys.  Won't make a difference in this game but it might in a couple of others.

The lack of a scrimmage for Boyle will make this a little uglier than one would think. After some halftime adjustments I see Boyle pulling away. I’m with you on the score prediction.

Boyle County should have little trouble here. However, I think I'm more interested in Tates Creek, who was really good in 2019 (Class 6A semifinalist) and really bad in 2020 (0-6 on the season).

Boyle rolls!

Going to have to miss this game due to having to check my son into Campbellsville Univ.. After going to the meet the Rebels last night, Boyle looks like they have a line with size.  My only question that I have about the Rebels is the running game.  But as always I think they will have that worked out by the first few games.  I'm going with the Rebels big in this one.

Any news on if this game will broadcast?

Prepspin will be streaming the game on their website. You can follow this link. You must be a subscriber to watch. It's 10$ for a "virtual ticket".

This one will be a running clock. The only question is will it be before or after halftime.

This is a rebuilding year for Creek. This won't be close. Much respect to Coach Smith, but his squad is so young, along with the fact his 2020 QB left the team, this will be a tough season.

The Commodores best chance for a win this season is against Lafayette.

Boyle Co. 42-7.
