If we cannot get Brad Stevens I think we should go after Gene Hackman as he did a great job in Hoosiers!

I would at least take a look at McDermott at Creighton.

No he did not but after the BCG disaster and passing over of CAL the first time Barnhart had to pull the trigger on CAL. Fans were all over him. The program was is in better shape at the moment and if CAL leaves Barney has more options then 2009.

When do facts cause you to change your mind? You are stuck on this Cal doesn't recruit elite players thought. Multiple times it has been pointed out Boston and Clarke were both top ten recruits. Boston was projected as #2 in this year's NBA draft by multiple sites. Both are almost certainly going to be first round picks. Add in Jackson as a likely first round pick. Will any other team have 3 first round picks this year? Those aren't elite recruits?

So is he a bad coach then or will you fall back on the generic the “tourney is random,” with our last final 4 being 2015 and Natty being 2012.  You’re thesis is suggesting recruiting is just as good today is as it was in 2010.  Please elaborate for us, the current FF and NC drought then.

I would give the normal response I always give you. However, Me and you have gone back and forth on this for awhile now. Which we already know we have to agree to disagree on this.

I have no thesis I am trying to promote. I am only pointing out that you are wrong when you say Cal is not  bringing in elite recruits. How they turn out to be when they start facing college competition is different than how they rank as recruits coming in.

My point is a few dynamic recruits swing the class like a Davis or Towns.  Those kids are 2 SD above the average 4/5 star recruit.  If Cal had landed Cade Cunningham this year, UK would be dancing, he’s a swing recruit.  Cal himself has said ad nauseam, “we don’t have that guy” when we need a bucket.

That's partially because overall this class is extremely down compared to other years.  There was only one guy like that and he wasn't leaving home.  Can't fault Cal for that.

I think Holtmann ( he was my pick) would understand KY and it’s fan base. However Bennett at Virginia has a title and the guy won the ACC again. He is a very underrated Coach who could win Big at KY.  Duke has only won 1 ACC regular season title in the past 15 years and that was a co championship in 2010.

Someone comment about how BBN would hate Bennetts style so that I can refrain from posting about Cal's replacement.

I can. Bennett would be run out of town because his style (while successful) is not exciting for this fan base. Bennett makes Tubby Smith look like Paul Westhead. At the first sign of distress - say a 10-4 start to a season - the fan base would be asking for Bennett's resignation and watching for Billy Donovan flights at the airport.

Well Bennett would definitely keep the pattern for UK coaches going. A legend followed by a very good coach that plays a boring system. That the fan base never truly gets behind and appreciates, and is not happy with how he plays. It literally has been a pattern. 
 

Rupp (legend), Hall (very good coach, not appreciated, people hated his style of play), Sutton (alcoholic), Pitino (legend), Smith (very good coach, not appreciated, people hated his style), Billy G. (Alcoholic), Calipari (legend), Bennett would literally fit the Tubby and Hall pattern perfectly. So if they hire Bennett, we might as well start a thread right then asking who would be the alcoholic to eventually replace him.
