UK fans would hate Bennett. UK needs a big personality at head coach and star power players. While Bennett has been really successful at UVA, that culture is a bad fit in Lexington IMO.

Holtmann is on the docile side as well.

@futurecoach was Shaka supposed to be the guy but simply doesn’t have the resume anymore?

He was a hot name 5 or 6 years ago, for about 15 minutes. A lot of people assumed he was on the short list back then. He has been a bit underwhelming since. But as the hot name at that name his name came up whenever these Cal Whatifs were discussed.

No idea. He was a name people talked a lot about when he was at VCU I believe, and has not done much since he got his bigger opportunity. That is what’s so scary about just throwing out names of coaches who are hot at the time. No idea if they could do it at a bigger stage, especially at a place like UK when literally every move you make is under a microscope. Billy G was the perfect example of that. He always said he just wanted to coach. Well at UK you don’t only get to coach basketball. That’s why people throwing out all kinds of names acting like they would be better than Cal is not the smartest thing to do. It truly takes someone special to not only be able to coach here, but also to be able to deal with everything else that comes with being the UK coach.
