Something to make OSU feel better.

Only one #1 seed has won the title.

Both years Alabama lost a coordinator between games, they lost the finals...even though one stayed on to coach the finals.

 

Line already moved 1.5 for Alabama, now +8.5.  That’s a lot of money quickly coming in on the Tide.

Maybe I am out there, but what am I missing about this? If you had asked me to guess the line I would have went with Bama by -2.5 (maybe), and would have taken the points. I get Alabama is undefeated, but this is on the lower half of Alabama teams under Saban, right? Especially on defense.

One of my favorite past times is trying to predict NFL lines. As such, my favorite podcast is every Sunday night/Monday morning with Bill Simmons and Cousin Sal where they "guess the lines." I am not bad at it. That said, with college football it is a futile exercise and something I gave up on a long time ago. Betting on college football is like betting on the NBA. Points can be put up on the board so fast with the rules in place - especially with the clock - it can give you an ulcer.

Bovada has Alabama - 8 currently.

Too me to says Vegas is calling Clemson a complete fraud.  I’ve said all year our secondary is suspect, but Clemson couldn’t throw it.  Bama however...

To me that was more so what the line was saying. Maybe they know something about his health we do not? Either way, Alabama has not been ALABAMA, despite their record. Offensively sure, but on defense they can be had, especially with a QB like Fields.

We know how this works, Vegas. You have two high powered offenses and we gladly take the over. Then at halftime it is 7-3.

Agreed, it’s hard to say what’s going on with his ribs.  I’m sure they will have him reach to go though, he said he will play through anything.  I could see the line falling down to 7.

I'll win some decent money in a company bowl pool if Alabama wins but does not cover the spread.

OSU gets their doors blown off in this one.  Saban gets his revenge for Cardale Jones.  Buckeyes' bubble gets burst as their defense gets shredded.  Fields, if he even makes it onto the field, will get punished.  Bama wins this one in a cake walk.
