It was a typo was suppose to say it was unrealistic to become Bama. Hence, why the rest the paragraph was talking about how it shouldn’t be unrealistic to try to get to Atlanta at some point. They are obviously never going to be competing to a National Title every year like Bama. However, it shouldn’t be considered unrealistic for them to try to compete to make it to Atlanta. Which to do that, a step they would need to take is making a change at OC.

Fair enough Coach.  And I would agree that a change at OC would really help right now.

Agree that he should not be on the hot seat as of yet.  However changes have to be made.  If you are a 4/5 star recruit at WR would you come to UK?  Absolutely not, because we do not throw the ball.  No one wants to be a blocker the whole time they are here.  They have to get an offensive coordinator that is better than Gran, plain and simple.  Recruiting has to be better than what is currently going on, we have to get better at the QB position,  WR, and TE position.  Running scheme we do some good things, and have some quality backs, offensive line people, we just have to get better in skilled spots.  The program is better for sure, but if you are wanting to make another step then some of these things have to change plain and simple.

What does last year matter for this year? Last year Indiana also got blasted by that same team that blasted UC. Yet this year that Indiana team took that same team that probably will be in the playoffs to the wire. So yeah your example doesn’t work really well there.

I never said he was on the hot seat. I also never said they had the team to make it to Atlanta this year. Where they are as a program, that should be a realistic goal for them though. However, to do that they would need to make changes to their offense and get a new OC. Their current offensive philosophy and play calling, will keep them currently right where they are, and never having a QB because of it.

Well Cincy would be the #4 playing Bama the #1.  The outcome would be as ugly as last years UC/OSU game.

Kentucky is right where they need to be and no, Stoops is not on the hot seat. His seat isn’t even warm yet...

While I don’t think UC would win, I do think they would perform much better than last years UC did against a top team. This is not the same UC team as last year, and are now a year older and better from last year. Plus honestly I think last years OSU team was better than any of the current teams top teams of this year.

I’m really trying not to sound arrogant or be the conceited OSU fan, but UK football fans as a whole have to be near the bottom as far as football IQ of any P5 fanbase in the country. Passion is obviously there, but just don’t have the ability to be subjective about anything. Hype the team up pre season every year and throw a fit when they aren’t preseason top 25. The season plays out how we all assume every year. Bottom tier SEC team 4 out of 5 years with one remarkable year where everything comes together and they are still at best the 4th of 5th best team in the conference in that year. But UK football fans have such unrealistic expectations. Stoops has hit those expectations exactly one time. Still hasn’t figured out the forward pass. But when pressed about is his seat hot, it’s resoundingly, no? You simply can’t have it both ways. You just can’t. What’s the definition of insanity again?

This is fair I still think Bama would beat UC by 24-28.  Just a different level of competition.

A couple of honest questions. What happened to the Eddie Gran offense he ran at UC? As UK fans we love to put the blame on him for his offensive schemes, but could some of the reason for Gran's schemes be that he is being handcuffed? If Gran is so bad, why did Georgia want him as their OC? I am not a Gran apologist, but I do think Stoops has to take some of the blame for the offensive schemes. Is Stoops on the hot seat, no, but obviously a change is needed. With our season all but lost, why not open up the playbook and see if the offense Gran ran at UC is potentially a viable option for us in the SEC, it can't hurt at this point. We need some excitement if we want to get solid WRs and QBs to commit, and if I am a guy like Wimsatt or Key (in state guys that we should have a shot at), this offense does not make me want to commit to the Cats. Do we as Cats fans need more realistic expectations, of course we do, but accepting mediocrity without seeing changes is not something that we need to accept.

Stoops' seat isn't hot because deep down most of them know what UK football is. If he consistently gets to bowl games, he'll be there as long as he wants.

Agreed completely. I don’t think his seat is hot nor should it be. I just can’t help but get frustrated listening to the same narrative year after year.

I believe I remember when Gran came here, our main UC guy on here Gametime. Was telling people he really isn’t that great of an OC, and it’s not really a bad thing that he is leaving UC.

He did, and nobody wanted to listen.

#Yahtzee....LOL! Kidding aside. Stoops will not be let go anytime soon. He will have the opportunity to change some staff around before it gets to that. Now will he change things up? Only time will tell.

Agreed. Gran will be the first casualty IMO and if/when Stoops gets rid of him, that buys him a few more years, at least.

That's normally how it works....
