Is it unrealistic to think UK could become Bama in football and dominate each year no. It shouldn’t be unrealistic to try to be able to compete to make it to Atlanta. That is the natural profession a team like UK should take. First it was to try to make a bowl game, then make them consistently and win them. They have gotten to that point. Now it should be ok how do we keep progressing to take another step.

If the highlighted is where you are, we are never going to agree.

I like UK football and want them to do well, which overall I think they are.

As for UC, it is hard for you to say UC would get blasted. When a team like OSU, who probably will be in the playoffs. Literally almost got beat at home to INDIANA, yes I said INDIANA. So if Indiana can take OSU to the wire. UC who I believe is better than Indiana, could give a team a much better matchup than you seem to think. 

Indiana is a really good team.  UC played a legit playoff team last year and got blasted 42-0, with virtually the same UC team.  If UC gets in, name your wager straight up.

This thread is about Stoops, he brought UK “back.”  He has wins over Penn State and Virginia Tech in the last few years.  Kentucky isn’t going to Atlanta but it’s crazy to think he’s on any hot seat.

That's not another step-- that's leaping the Grand Canyon.  Sure UK's record looks pretty good over the previous 4 seasons (not counting this crazy season) at 32-20.  But when you look a little deeper they're 16-4 in non-conference games. 3 of those wins are bought and paid for every year and UL has been down the last couple of seasons to make the non-conference slate easier.   They're only 16-16 in the SEC.  That's a heck of an improvement over their past.   But look a little closer at that SEC record.  They're 11-1 against Vanderbilt,  South Carolina and Missouri and 5-15 against the rest of the league.   They're nowhere close to getting to Atlanta.   Stoops is doing a good job but he's gotten them to the point that they're a legitimate SEC team-- not a legitimate SEC contender.

That is obviously what I meant to say, was yes it is unrealistic for them to become Alabama on football. Which is why the rest of it talked about, how the next goal should be to try to make it to Atlanta one day. However, that is what I get for no going back and proof reading that one.

What I am saying, is that should be the next goal. Becoming a consistent bowl team and winning bowl games was the first goal when he got here. Now, that you established that, the next goal should be to try to find away to compete to make it to Atlanta. 
 

Also notice, how I said that should be their next goal. I also didn’t say they should get rid of Stoops. They would be stupid to move on from him. However, Stoops shouldn’t be content just to make bowl games. He has gotten to this point, now next step for him should be to try to figure out how they could take the next step. Which is looking at how they currently are on offense, simply won’t get it done. He would need to make a change at OC. 
 

It is unrealistic to think they could get to Atlanta with their current OC and offensive philosophy. My point is it shouldn’t be unrealistic, they should be figuring out to make that next step. Which is making a change with the offense.

What does last year matter for this year? Last year Indiana also got blasted by that same team that blasted UC. Yet this year that Indiana team took that same team that probably will be in the playoffs to the wire. So yeah your example doesn’t work really well there. 
 

I never said he was on the hot seat. I also never said they had the team to make it to Atlanta this year. Where they are as a program, that should be a realistic goal for them though. However, to do that they would need to make changes to their offense and get a new OC. Their current offensive philosophy and play calling, will keep them currently right where they are, and never having a QB because of it.

It was a typo was suppose to say it was unrealistic to become Bama. Hence, why the rest the paragraph was talking about how it shouldn’t be unrealistic to try to get to Atlanta at some point. They are obviously never going to be competing to a National Title every year like Bama. However, it shouldn’t be considered unrealistic for them to try to compete to make it to Atlanta. Which to do that, a step they would need to take is making a change at OC.

Now with that said, no he should not be on the hot seat. However, he should be looking at how can he get the program to take the next step, so they can make it more realistic of having a chance to make Atlanta. Which when looking at it, he has to see the offense here under Eddie Gran is never going to be good enough to get to that level. So that is a change that needs to be made. 

I have said this for years, why would we accept middle of the road in the SEC, I think that is terrible thinking!!

It was good thinking for where UK was before Stoops arrived. Now he has consistently got them to this level. Now he should be thinking how to take that next step, and every now and then possibly compete to make it to Atlanta. Which the biggest issue is the offense. Basically no QB ever develops or does well in this offense, which shows it probably is more the scheme than the QBs. He needs to make a change at OC.
