August 20, 20206 yr He got caught by a hot mic saying something he shouldn’t have said while on the air. He has apologized already on live tv during the game, and will not be finishing the game. The big question now is if he will lose his job? You know for sure a suspension if anything is coming.
August 20, 20206 yr Don’t know if he gets fired. Have to think a long suspension is definitely coming.
August 20, 20206 yr What city was he talking about? He makes a lot of mistakes but this one will cost him. If Fox fires him, football is gone also.
August 20, 20206 yr Thom gone for sure. You simply can’t recover from that. If he was simply a Reds PxP announcer I could see them suspending him for the rest of the season, but he does more than just the Reds. Thom’s career is over. Don’t really have anything else to say besides that.

August 20, 20206 yr Just now, sumoroyal said: Just trying to get some context on what he could have been talking about. He was talking to Welsh. Does he have any trouble Coming? Why is context needed? There is no context that it would be acceptable to say what he said. Chris Welsh wasn’t heard saying anything so it’s doubtful any trouble comes his way.
August 20, 20206 yr He may eventually be forgiven on a personal basis, but what he said is inexcusable on any level. It reveals a deep seeded problem and belief system that he has. He should not be allowed to be on the air again. Time to go away for awhile, reflect and maybe sell cars or something.

I'm guessing he was talking about Kansas City or at least that might have been where the discussion started. Slim Pickens makes a similar reference in Blazing Saddles.
August 20, 20206 yr I agree that it was a very casual statement which indicates it is a term he probably uses frequently. I do not think he works again.
