Round 1, Pick 10.

How many other footballers from Kentucky high schools have gone in the first round?

Tim Couch (Leslie County) was the first overall pick in the 1999 draft.

Phil Simms (Southern) was Round 1, Pick 7 in the 1979 draft.

Kurt Barber (Paducah-Tilghman) was Round 2, Pick 42 in the 1992 draft.

Dermontti Dawson (Bryan Station) was Round 2, Pick 44 in the 1988 draft.

Craig Yeast (Harrodsburg) was Round 4, Pick 98 in the 1999 draft.

Doug Pelfrey (Scott) was Round 8, Pick 202 in the 1993 draft.

DeVante Parker. Ballard, Louisville.

I’m surprised no one mentioned Shaun Alexander drafted 19th by the Seahawks.

Will Wolford, St.X, Round 1 20th pick, 1986.

Had no idea that Phil Simms was a Kentucky guy, good stuff.

One of my all time favorites, on and off the field.

Louisville Southern, Morehead State Iniversity. Went to Morehead at the same time I did. Don’t want to hear any age-related comments from the usual suspects.

Marty Moore.....1994 Mr Irrelevant. Highlands High School/Kentucky/New England Patriots. 1st ever Mr Irrelevant to play in a Super Bowl.

Jacob Tamme was drafted in the 4th round by the Colts in 2008.

I heard the Lions were really tough at home in the Colosseum that year.

After watching him a couple of games in High School, I was not sure how much he would play for the Tide. But he has really became a great tackle and hope he does good in the Pros. Congrats on going 10th in the 1st round.

Not first round, but recent KY High School draft picks:

2011 Luke Stocker 4th round 104th pick

2013 Larry Warford 3rd Round 65th pick

2017 Taywan Taylor 3rd Round 72nd pick

2019 Damien Harris 3rd Round 87th pick

All were on NFL rosters in 2019
