oldrambler
...:thumb: I liked the lineup, emotion, hustle, tempo and effort. Once the TO's get reduced and everyone understand their roles, tonight can be looked back upon and thought of, as the first step toward this team getting better. Too many positives, for any UK fan to nit-pick at.....Just enjoy the win and get ready for IU. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
bellalumni40
Seriously? With 3 losses already and probably (possible) losses to Tenn (2), Fla (2), LSU, Indiana, Louisville, Bama, and the usual slip up to Vandy or UGA I just dont see it. Tennessee is not at all the team they were last year. IU and the Ville could be good games, but neither of those teams is at their historical level. oldrambler
So do you guys think UK will be a bubble team this season? I think they will be lucky to be a bubble team... GIAT I hope that your avatar knows more about basketball than you do. If not the Tomcats are in for a Loooooooooooooooong season.
futurecoach
I'm talking about in the 2nd half when Chattanooga made a run and actually made it a game again. We need a timeout and some subs in the worst way. Luckily, Crawford and Bradley hit 3's to take care of everything. Well if it was the part during the huge run I agree with you that they looked tired, but I dont agree with you that they looked tired during that Chattanooga run. During that run it just looked like they had a hard time getting the spark going again, and that happens to most teams once you let off the gas its hard to get it going right away again. But once Chattanooga cut into that lead you saw the intensity go back up again on defense and offense you had the players step up and make some threes. If they were fatigued those threes would have came up short...

Wow you just must think UK is a terrible team this season or something. I mean yeah they already have 3 losses, but look who the losses were against. Its not like we have went out and lost to mid major schools like alot of teams have so far. And well besides the Memphis game in the second half, we have played pretty well in those losses. The record might not show it right now, but this years team is not a bad team...
pigman
I thought the majority of the big run for nooga was against the subs, and with the help of the officials.Let's see Florida has one less loss than we do I'd say there probably a bubble team too. oldrambler
Thomas still looked just awful tonight. He always looks like he's a step too slow and a little lazy or something. He just can't keep up the the speed of the D1 level. I take it that he is not getting a Christmas card from you this year. (kidding) The Cats looked very good with the lineup they put on the floor in this one. Im sorry, but UK USED TO play, and be feared like the teams that just beat our socks off. We are officially a mid-level team in the SEC. Yes good teams beat us, but normally UK wins those games. I have began to hope we lose, because hopefully more loses will get Tubby out. This is just my personal opinion you can agree or disagree, we will see in March. For once we agree. Sheray Thomas is slow, I think he wears concrete socks.

mobaar
I have began to hope we lose Alright.. its official. You ARE off the bandwagon. The team looked great, got up nearly 30, and Tubby started tinkering with lineups and giving the bench players some minutes. Yeah, UTC cut it to single digits, but it was during a weird run of HORRENDOUS officiating. We clearly saw the benefit of Bradley playing his natural position, and that Jasper can contribute as the starting PG. Ball movement and floor spacing were MUCH MUCH improved over the earlier games. I've been on Tubby before to lighten up a little and have fun, but he was ferocious tonight, and apparently it worked. If the team continues to improve at this rate, we could have ourselves a sleeper team raring to go.
InTheStands41240
I agree that Tubby was very intense tonight. I like some of the things that I seen last night. Two trouble areas that I did not like were still 20 turnovers and the lack of production from the bench in the scoring department. I do however think that the bench will get better and provide more scoring in the games as the freshman get more experience. I hope for a good season but seems it is not only some of us that is disgruntled on here about the basketball program but looks as though the people that put fannies in the seats are not happy either. Only a little over 11,000 for the game last night. Ouch.....
gchs_uk9
Two things: 1. I thought Coach Smith made a mistake by subbing in all five bench players early in the second half after the run. Yes, the officiating hurt some, but we had little to no scoring on the floor to counteract what UTC was doing. If Bradley and maybe Perry had stayed on for a couple minutes with the subs, Kentucky might could have avoided letting the lead drop to single digits. But that's nitpicking and the starters responded well when returning to the game. 2. What about the Freedom Hall crowd? 11,000+. Has the day come that UK should stop playing in Louisville annually and simply play the Indiana game there every-other year? These "out in the state" games started back in the 1940s (including stops in Owensboro), simply as a way for fans throughout the state to get to watch the games live because a trip to Lexington was next to impossible. With improved roads and more television coverage, is it necessary to play games in Louisville and Cincinnati? I want to think yes, but the crowds obviously say no. With that being said, it did see like it was a boisterous group, even though small.
