RowdyRedRam
2. What about the Freedom Hall crowd? 11,000+. Has the day come that UK should stop playing in Louisville annually and simply play the Indiana game there every-other year? These "out in the state" games started back in the 1940s (including stops in Owensboro), simply as a way for fans throughout the state to get to watch the games live because a trip to Lexington was next to impossible. With improved roads and more television coverage, is it necessary to play games in Louisville and Cincinnati? I want to think yes, but the crowds obviously say no. With that being said, it did see like it was a boisterous group, even though small. Mitch loses a little more of Louisville to Jurich everyday. The Cats need to find an elsewhere to play. IAmAFan
Alright.. its official. You ARE off the bandwagon. The team looked great, got up nearly 30, and Tubby started tinkering with lineups and giving the bench players some minutes. Yeah, UTC cut it to single digits, but it was during a weird run of HORRENDOUS officiating. We clearly saw the benefit of Bradley playing his natural position, and that Jasper can contribute as the starting PG. Ball movement and floor spacing were MUCH MUCH improved over the earlier games. I've been on Tubby before to lighten up a little and have fun, but he was ferocious tonight, and apparently it worked. If the team continues to improve at this rate, we could have ourselves a sleeper team raring to go. The 6'1" high school point guard, who has been a PG at UK for 3 years is naturally a 2???????????? Against Chatapoopa it looked great.
IAmAFan
I liked how the announcers mentioned Tubby wanted the offense to move the ball more. That's the single second (recruiting is 1) biggest problem at KY is the O. They moved the ball much better last night. Then they held it and tried to eat clock (tubby ball) and SURPRISE there was a comeback. I don't mind the TOs especially when they are moving the ball around and not dribbling and standing. Even though this post is sarcastic, I do agree with the lineup change. However, if you play 3 guards shouldn't you run? The half court offense is VERY limited with that lineup. We have 4 shooters and Morris on the floor. Tubby hasn't produced consistent shooting teams in the past.
RowdyRedRam
How many does Freedom Hall hold?19,000 I believe. I'll look it up in a second. Yes that is correct, 19,000 and some change.

It looked more than 60% filled last night. Empty sections at both end zones in the upper deck on both sides, but it appeared to be covered everywhere else. I am terrible at estimating things like that though.

I do not care where he has played in the past, but it is evident the kid is struggling as the true floor general distributing the ball effectively. Similar to how Tony Delk was a disaster at PG. oldrambler
I have began to hope we lose, because hopefully more loses will get Tubby out. I hope that your support for your beloved Tomcats doesn't sway like this. If so, Frances Bavier, Painter, Greybeard and a host of others may kick you out of the Marooon Mafia. :D

What good does it do you to not turn the ball over if you just stand and dribble for 30 seconds and then force up a bad shot. If you do that 3 times and don't score or if you push the ball, play aggressive and score once or twice and have a turnover...which is more productive? You have to be aggressive offensively...UK's players too often look like they're having to think too much instead of just reacting and playing basketball. I'm not driving 2 hours to watch garbage basketball. Maybe I'll get back to a game when we have a top 25 team.

ladiesbballcoach
Funny that the one thing that people rip on Tubby for, recruiting, is the exact reason why they are not performing as expected, top recruiting class not playing as expected.
