I have thought this is Madisonville's year from the beginning of the season and now I have to put my money where my mouth is. To pick against Mayfield in the West is usually fools gold. But I believe this Maroons team playing at home has a legit rush attack with a line comparable to or I think better than McCracken County's line. That along with playing at home and a very undervalued passing game for Madisonville leads me to picking:

I have been critical of Mayfield's tackling this season, and this Friday will show if they have improved or not. I have watched Hightower on Hudl, and that dude is a bowling ball. I think he will certainly give Mayfield fits. Not sure about Madisonville's defense. Not many teams have been able to stop Mayfield (even McCracken had some trouble) so I see a shootout.

Mayfield has been held under 35 points only once this season and I don't really see it happening again Friday. Mayfield defense will definitely be tested.

I am confident that Mayfield is better than Hoptown and Logan. Both teams have had some issues on defense at times. Mayfield expects to win every game and has played better competition. Give me the Cards

I don't know if it will make a difference, but Madisonville certainly needs this game more than Mayfield. The Maroons are currently second in their three-way tiebreaker with Logan County and Hopkinsville, and a win over Mayfield would boost them to probably 19 total points. Logan County has 14 currently, and can't get above 18 without beating South Warren, which I consider far less likely. At the very least, it would virtually guarantee Madisonville stayed ahead of Hopkinsville for the 2 seed.

Mayfield played Hopkinsville early in the season and trailed all game until a late 4th quarter rally to win 27-22, the lowest point total they have had all season I believe

Be a neat game to attend. Think Mayfield is diverse and comes out on top 34-14. Will be hard hitting game!

Mayfields starting middle linebacker has to sit this game out. Had two personal fouls in the Murray game. Not sure what he did to get either penalty, but I hope it wasn't for talking trash.
