Not on the line of scrimmage, neither would.

Now, HHS and CovCath might outrun or pass over the Red Devil defense... But not run through, not this past year. Russell had more "size with speed" in the trenches than I may have ever seen in 2A.

;)

You must have missed or forgotten about Boyle in '99 and '00. :thumb:

The Ky High School Athletic Association is way to smart to let someone with two physically-seperate high schools manipulate the system....

Well , maybe they will be the second time ...

   devils will be watching ...

Your continual ignorance or deliberate misrepresentation of the facts are getting old. :irked:

The schools consolidated. There are 2 campus' in which students of the former Mercer and Harrodsburg both frequent depending upon their class schedule. Please get over it and move on. :sssh:

Nice spin control. The best 7-5 team in Ky. football history. I like that. Any port in a storm, I guess.

Did Highlands have a quality win this year?

I think you just slammed the team you so vehemently pull for.

Man, get over it.

Mason Co.'s coach is a Mercer alumni, and a good friend. You might want to focus on them, Russell might not get out of the district.

Yeah, I think they beat your team 49-0......... It was only 49-0 because they were being nice. :D :D

None of this really makes any valid point, except maybe Dixie had a lot of guys win more games as sophomores than they did as juniors.

CovCath lost a ton on the offensive side of the ball. To say they'll be a good passing team next year is awful premature at this point. They broke in a new qb this season, but at least had veteran wide outs, backs, and a tight end to help him along. They lost all of them this year.

Highlands returns their quarterback and some skill players in the passing game. But, they've really gone away from throwing the ball the last three or four years.

Will the district be good, yes. Will it be full of good passing teams, I can't see that right now.

CCH has lost a lot of offensive players. All but 2 I think. But, I heard that they have great specialty players that are JR's now that will be playing next year. But all together, Coach R. will have that O clicking.

As for HHS I agree 100% with you. They have totally gone away from passing the ball. But with runningbacks they had I see why. Next year if they want to win state they will have to be able to pass the ball better.

No, not at all. This Russell team was comparable to those Boyle teams in the trenches.

Boyle had a lot more skill-type players (heck...lots of everything). But the two teams were equivalent, or maybe a slight edge to Russell on linemen.

I'll send you a video of the parade through Harrodsburg after we won it all.....you can watch that the rest of they year.....give it a rest dude.

Looking forward to how far the "2a champion parade" takes Mercer in 5a next year .....

Playing up , oh I mean at the proper level ... should be interesting .... hint , speed of the game, size of the players will all be increased ...

send me the tape ...

:fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

ps .. Mason needs to prepare for the Devils , not the other way around ...

No offense guys, but your barking at the wrong sandman. The one your talking to is NOT a Dixie guy. I am the real Sandman, and I am.

I think our district will start this way, HHS, CCH, Dixie, and the rest.

Will it end that way? I doubt it. We did underachieve last season. We did get beat by both CCH and HHS handily too. But this year will be a little different as those games will be played at the end of the season. Dixie is an underdog at the point, but alot of things can happen between now and next Oct. I'm willing to wait and find out.:D

I'll go with

1. Cov. Cath

2. Highlands

3. BG

4. Dixie

5. Hopkinsville

6. Pulaski

7. Holmes

8. Mercer ( Is this the 2A state Champion ? )

9. Owensboro

10. Lincoln

is it just me, or has everyone forgot about that team in the mountains that made one heck of a run to the state semi's and that led CCH 14-10 at halftime during that game before a few miscues and injuries doomed them? Hmm... think they were called the Golden Beagles or something like that. I dont think they can be left out of this debate. And if they are, then look for them to turn heads and suprise everyone again next year. Go Beagles!

We should have known that wasn't you 32.

Glad you liked it. No spin, just fact. So you're saying Highlands wasn't a very good team this year?

Fact gives the impression that you can prove it. Like i said earlier I am sure there are a number of people that would challenge that "fact".

Someone else brought up rotating linemen. While it is not uncommon for teams to do that on defense it is not to common on offense. In fact it can blowup in your face. A team may have 70-80 kids on the team but only 11 can play at a time. I have watched it a number of times happen where a team of 30-40 beats a team with 70-100. Good teams too (X & T for example).

When you look at the breakdown some of the districts are bunched talent wise bad. In the end it makes for a great season to watch.

Sorry , didn't realize JC was 5A next year ! I think there a definite top 10 for next year . What's the chance them playing some NKY teams next year ? I've love to see them play . Maybe Dixie , Holmes , CCH , or HHS can work in a game with them !:thumb:

CovCath made the trip to Paintsville this year. It's Dixie's, Holmes', or HHS' turn to make the drive down for a regular season matchup.
