Mayer is an absolute treat to watch.

The pick 6 was amazing.

He also landed a monster hit to force a fumble.

Not to mention multiple big plays on offense.

Covington Catholic: 320 yards of offense

LaSalle: 114 yards of offense

#3 team in Ohio and #80 team in the NATION? That’s pretty big.

They are #3 in the GCL!!

Rule 13

Mud Bowl was probably more satisfying.

They are #3 in the GCL!!

So that means #3 in Ohio. Thanks.

If it’s the biggest win ever then you haven’t had many big wins.

Considering LaSalle only lost 6 times to a KY team before this then I consider this relatively big. Also no one said this is CovCaths "biggest win". The biggest win is always the state championship. But this may be the most "impressive" win in CovCath's program history, but then again, CovCath has had other impressive wins.

Please don’t get me wrong it is a nice win. Sounds like CCH dominated. But to say #3 in Ohio.....personally I disagree.

Rule 2

The players and staff I’m sure already feel this way...

But as a program, CovCath should remain for the foreseeable future as a team that expects to win, regardless of who they line up against.

Also, idk what the diocese allows, but pay coach Eviston.

Yes, please don’t take me the wrong way. It was a great win. They really played well.

USA Today currently has Mentor, Olentangy Liberty and Lakewood St. Edward all ranked above anyone in the GCL in their Ohio rankings. MaxPreps has LaSalle ranked 9th in Ohio, with Elder and St. Xavier ahead of them. Most folks have the GCL ranked Elder, then St. Xavier, then LaSalle seeing as LaSalle is yet to play Elder or St. Xavier.

Regardless, back to the game.....

He is impressive. We might be seeing him on Sunday’s in the future.

Incredibly surprised, and pleasantly so. I didn't think the CovCath defensive front would hold up versus LaSalle's offensive line and running game...and I was dead wrong. Kudos to the Colonels.

I think two things are clear for the rest of 5A at this point: you can throw the ball on the Colonels if your QB is special and you have solid weapons, however, you can NOT run on the Colonels. Period.

If that holds true CCH will be the 5A Champs.
