Soccer Is The Worst....

Featured Replies

Tell me why I’m wrong.

I’ve spent 30 minutes of my life watching LA vs Seattle.

It’s still 0-0....

LA just got some sort of free kick. Guy sailed it 10 rows into the crowd.

We’re now at the 36 minute mark. Still 0-0...

You're not wrong.

I’ve tired and I just can’t watch it. I’m always irritated when sportscenter has soccer plays as #1 play in the top ten.

I’m not a fan, and I too have tried watching it and to learn some of the nuances of the game. It’s not just the lack of scoring...I can watch 1-0 baseball games and low scoring NHL games, or even a 7-0 nfl game. It’s just not my cup of tea, and I won’t make fun of folks enjoying it.

I occasionally watch the EPL because of its time slot, along with the odd World Cup or Olympics game. I’ve tried to watch at other levels (US pros, college and high school) and can’t do it.

Soccer players are incredible athletes and I’d never give anyone a hard time for being really into the sport.

It’s just so slow....

I’ve tried to learn about the sport and enjoy it, I just can’t.

I watch the EPL and USL (Louisville City). It takes a certain kind of mindset to watch soccer, one I’m still adjusting to.

The thing that puzzles me is people say baseball doesn't have enough action, yet soccer excites them. For the average fan watching casually, I don't see much difference. The one advantage soccer has is you are pretty sure the match will be over in a couple hours. A baseball game is probably going 3 hours, and often goes longer.

Personally, I much prefer baseball but I am not the usual fan. Every pitch is a move in a chess match for me when I watch a baseball game. Every pitch I am thinking with the pitcher and the hitter trying to guess what pitch will he throw, what location, etc.

I can't watch it. Too slow, too boring and way too much flopping. If someone I know likes it, that's cool. It's just not for me.

They have started giving yellow cards in the EPL for flopping. I’m hoping that starts to clean some of it up.

I hope it helps. A lot of the flopping I've seen in soccer isn't even creative, lol. Another thing about soccer that bugs me is when there is a "fight". As a hockey fan, a soccer fight is just comical to me. The only thing missing is a pillow. Now, soccer fans on the other hand, geesh! They get serious!

I've tried to give it a whirl from time to time but it just doesn't move me much. Growing up with sports that you score every once in a while, I just can't get too excited with soccer where they rarely do. More than anything the game frustrates me.
