Another possible plot hole is if it is an Aurora, 99.999% chance it would be either an Air Force or Skunk Works test pilot, not a Navy Pilot.

 

I think the CIA was piloting most, if not all, SR-71 flights. But they are likely ex-regular forces. But your not going to be a "Navy-logoed" pilot.

I always remember the references to the "donut-on-a-rope" contrails these are supposed to leave.

Whole thing is fascinating. It was filmed at China Lake, which is a Navy testing site and I have a good idea who Maverick was dusting, or “raising the roof” on.

I love it that apparently Ice Man is an admiral now, lol. I wonder whether or not Kilmer makes a cameo in any form other than the portrait they flash in the trailer.

And it seems awwwwfully heavy-handed that one of the Top Gun pilots Maverick is asked to be in charge of just so happens to be Goose's son ?

They're releasing it in IMAX theaters too...as they should. Lol, I may puke from the perceived motion sickness, but I'm gonna go see it in IMAX.

This is what, the fourth official release in 2 years.  I will believe it when it's actually happened.

The Trailer looks pretty good, hopefully it is on level with the original.

It doesn't matter. The aerial video footage alone will be worth the price of admission!

I haven't been to an Imax in over 20 years, but I want to see this one in Imax.
