He has to be a scorer or UK will lose a ton of games. I hate some things Crawford does (dribble with his head down) but he needs to lead the team in shot attempts. I think he's looked better in 2 defeats than he looked last season.

Sorry state of UK basketball when you depend on a quitter to lead the team to the promised land.

Crawford needs to be the one taking most of Kentucky's shots. In my opinion he is the only proven scorer on the team (by proven I exclude the freshmen because I feel Jasper and Meeks will light it up). This thread has no substance whats so ever. Why can't somebody make a Bobby Perry threead when he continues to brick layups and airball/high glass three point attempts?

He takes some bad shots. Forces them.

He gets in trouble when he starts "ball-testing" on perimeter.

 

I cringe when they ball screen for him and he tried to dribble through traps.

Good point...I remember Keith Bogans was pretty much the same way and then when he finally realized that if he let the game come to him and stopped forcing things, became a very good player who made it to the next level, but, it was well into his Jr year before that happened, so, let's give Joe the time to work out his own situation and find himself as a player...

He may not be the biggest gunner but he is one of the worst defenders UK has had. I don't see the upside in Crawford. I think he is slow and has very short arms. Plays smaller than his listed height.

My main problem with joe is; he has a ton of athletic ability, but he tries to build a home on the 3 point line. Attack the RIM.

I honestly cannot figure the kid out. Somedays I feel like he could be an All-SEC type performer, other days I feel like he would be better coming off the bench and hate seeing the ball in his hands.

Ken Shields-ism for a guy that stands on the perimeter and over-dribbles. AKA, Rajon Rondo's time at UK is exhibit "A".

 

I believe Mr. Shileds referred to it as: a Spalding ball-tester.

I honestly am not bothered by his offense nearly as bad as I am his defense. He has got to get better defensively!

That was back in the day when UK basketball was actually FUN!

 

This right here is the reason why I dont think no matter what Tubby did, you all wouldn't like him. Even if he had got us to another final four, I really believe alot of you all still would want a new coach in here, because he doesn't do that fast pace style like Pitino. And just alot of you cant get over those days when all we did was fun, and I admit it was fun to watch. But just because Tubby's style isn't as fun to watch as Pitinos doesn't mean he is not a great coach as well. There is not many coaches out there whos style is as fun to watch as Pitino's was...
