November 22, 200619 yr I actually thought Sheray was one of our better players on the floor tonight. Very hard nosed defense on the interior, probably our best interior defender tonight. That is not saying much, but all this flack you are giving this guy is undeserved, he is a Kentucky player who has been through ALOT in his four years here. He deserves your respect, especially after the performance he had tonight, not in the state sheet, but he was a hustling machine tonight.
November 22, 200619 yr Well I didnt get to see the game tonight. But I know we dug ourselves a big hole and was able to fight back and had a chance to win. Obviously the team is still a work in progress, but we are showing some promise. I think everyone who is reasonable will be very pleased if we are able to beat Memphis tommorow. These freshmen are great and are going to be exciting to watch the next few years!
November 22, 200619 yr Turnovers (most by Bradley or atleast most crucial) & Rebounding (mostly offensive) Good game by Jasper (Led UK in Rebounds (8), Assists (4) & Steals (2).. Also had 12 points Arron Afflalo of UCLA was 5 of 18 from the field with 14 points. (1 of 8 from down town) Randolph Morris had 11 points & Crawford had 16 UCLA was 2 of 19 from 3 land. (UK was 6 of 15) Bobby Perry had 0 points in 24 minutes. UK had 16 turnovers (Bradley had 4 & Jasper had 4) to UCLA's 8. UK had 3 steals.....All by Jasper 31 of UK's 68 points were by freshmen
November 22, 200619 yr Everybody is dogging Bradley out for turnovers, but Jasper only had one less (4) than Bradley...Why aren't you guys being harsh on him?
November 22, 200619 yr Everybody is dogging Bradley out for turnovers, but Jasper only had one less (4) than Bradley...Why aren't you guys being harsh on him? Seems like Bradley's turnovers were most crucial
November 22, 200619 yr Seems like Bradley's turnovers were most crucial That's not what I saw. Both had key mistakes late...
November 22, 200619 yr Wish I hadn't changed channels when it was 26-7. Sound like we showed some heart. Something last years team lacked most of the time. I said before the season I thought Meeks would be the best freshman, man I really like his game and attitude.
November 22, 200619 yr Bradley has several weaknesses, which were shown against a quick defensive player, along with a lack of ball handling skills, that a PG needs. Extremely disappointed in his play and that is an area, which is critical to this teams success. I agree on the disappointment. He looked like he wasn't ready to step up to the big times against a tough defensive team. Good coaching by Tubby at the end of the game. Designs a play that gets an open look for Bradley one, if not the best, 3 pt shooter on the team and then a shot from 1 foot for Morris and neither makes the play. The 3 juniors were AWOL in the first half.
November 22, 200619 yr That's not what I saw. Both had key mistakes late... Jasper had a key one in the last 2 minutes. But you expect that of freshmen in their first key game and not the guy who has experience.
November 22, 200619 yr Early season loss to a top 10 team in the nation, no problem!! UK looked great at times just didn't make the plays at the end under a minute. Give it up to UCLA they had some really good ball handlers. They will give a bunch of teams trouble. UK bounces back today with a win and have a good time in Maui...................LTW.
November 22, 200619 yr Everybody is dogging Bradley out for turnovers, but Jasper only had one less (4) than Bradley...Why aren't you guys being harsh on him?Maybe because Jasper is a freshman who did not start and who had 4 times as many assists and 3 times as many rebounds as starting PG Bradley. The fact that Jasper also had all three of UK's steals also might be a factor.
November 22, 200619 yr I am very impressed with the effort by the Freshman. To play well early on the road says a lot about their abilities. Cats made some mistakes but played a decent game against a very good UCLA team. I think the Cats are a different team from a year ago and seem to be heading in the direction we all want them to go. It is still early and time will tell but you have to be happy with the effort. The mistakes that are being made are ones that can be corrected. Good effort by the Cats.
November 22, 200619 yr Look at the bright side people.. pUKE lost to Marquette And that is always a good thing!!!!:thumb: :dancingpa
November 22, 200619 yr Turnovers and defensive rebounding hurt the Cats. Good effort and I do love these freshmen!
