LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal will be the new face of Louisville-based Papa John’s.

 

The pizza giant issued a statement Friday morning announcing that the four-time NBA champion will join the company’s board of directors, invest in nine stores in the Atlanta area and “be an ambassador for the Papa John’s brand.”

Shaq is rolling in the endorsement money these days!

On tangent but Shaq is one of my favorite professional athletes/personalities of all time.

 

And I type that as I am wearing my Shaq (frames) computer reading glasses and my Shaq moisturizing lotion (Gold Bond Ultimate).

 

Now (soon) it is time for some Papa Johns!

Haven't had it in a few years, but I always found them to be too skimpy on toppings.

I love Papa John's pizza. I think they are solid on everything including number of ingredients on top.

Ru, I don't think it's changed all that much. Like others have stated it's nothing spectacular. I always found the consistency of the cheese a little off but that could be due to the particular PJ place that delivers to our house. I've always found Marco's to be better as chain pizzas go.

I find Papa John's tomato sauce to be overwhelming, and dominates the flavor of their pizza. Obviously some folks like it, but it is at the bottom of my pizza choice list.

That's how I feel. Someone gave us a gift card after my wife's surgery and we had PJ's one night...it wasn't bad for free, but I won't spend my own money on it.

Shaqaroni Pizza or Large, Extra Large or the New Shaq Size 18 inch pizza. Should be fun...The only person better for the endorsement IMO would have been Charles Barkley!
