I have a problem with the "ville" part. That is too close to another school in Johnson County.

I think we need to keep this in its perspective, had this person killed someone, seriously offended someone, called someone by name, OK an apology or more would be needed. Making a geographical mistake, C'MON guys, get tougher than that! Our feel good society thinks we need an apology or a lawsuit for every little mistake. No problem here! Anyone else who got their feelings hurt, get over yourself!

As a radio announcer myself, it is easy to say alot of things that at the time seem ok, but later you think Did I really say that?. Should be a great game Friday, Lets see if Johnson Central can stay undefeated.

I disagree with Cshs81, I think an apology was most certainly needed...and hat's off to Mr. Wehry for doing so. Not knowing a city's name is one thing, referring to them as being in the "middle of nowhere" was way over the line.

 

Tip of the hat Mr. Wehry for having the class to apologize, and not letting a lot of time pass before doing so. Nice move!

It couldnt have been as bad as the ICN 6 guy saying the ball carrier carries across to the 52 yrd line. : ) That guy should be apologizing to all of NKY for his horrible broadcast.

 

Those guys on the CCH network are hilarious... at first I couldnt stand them because of their homering....but after a couple listens I just chalked it up as hilarious and why not be a homer.

Mark and Jason as I posted earlier are outstanding men who work tirelessly to promote and broadcast CovCath Sports. When Mark called me at home early Saturday morning he sounded so upset and stressed that I was really worried about him as a person and a friend. He was truly upset that he might have hurt those in Paintsville/Johnson Central High School, that he told me he had to get an apology out to them and he knew that I had an account on BGP's. So Mark sent me the apology and I posted it for him. I know that he feels much better and is looking forward to doing the game at Johnson Central Friday night..... JC fans, if you get the chance on Friday look Mark up, as he is really a great guy.... or better yet just

E-mail him during the game.

I honestly don't believe that anyone got their feelings hurt over the statement. Was it a big deal...no. Was it insulting...no. Did it give us JC fans a chance to poke a little fun at Mr. Wehry's expense...yes. But it's all in good fun. I truly hope that he understands that no one here in Johnsonville is upset. We are looking forward to the game and I hope I get the opportunity to meet Mr. Wehry and thank him for the fun he has afforded me.

Couldnt agree more.:thumb: Mr. Wehry done no harm here and like one person on here asked about where CCH was, I would have just assumed Covington and not Park Hills.

Hats off to the 99.9% of the people on here that realize this is a whole lot about nothing. I've got family in Beattyville. They'll be the first to tell you they're in the middle of nowhere so why should anyone in EKY be offended when they're off the beaten path? Its part of their community pride.
