Even though I don't agree with BADCAT74, I picked JC in the poll, you don't need to be so disrespectful to the entire Ashland Program. To be honest I'm not sure the last time Ashland didn't make the playoffs even back when only the District Champ and Runner-Up made the playoffs. I understand that some, very few that I know, of our fans might want you to lose this week but the shots you just took are uncalled for especially after this past Friday.

 

As far as this week goes..Don't under estimate Coach Larkey and Staff. They do a great job, as does Coach Matney and his Staff. Rockcastle will come into the Nest with a game plan that will try and dissect the Golden Eagle Defense and make JC prove they can move the ball against a VERY solid "Rock" Defense. If the game stays close and Coach Matney doesn't tip his entire hand on offense before half Johnson Central can win.

No disrespect here. I have never disrespected the Ashland program, and actually admire it very much. A little jab, a little salt in the wound is about as far as I go. Last year, after our letdown against Madison Southern, I sat out in my car and listened to Dickie through the static and pulled for Ashland. This year, we're district champs and deserve our district's support, but that's a personal thing, I guess. Your buddy has made it clear that, quote: "I don't like JC . . .." I couldn't care less, and respect his (or her) right to feel that way. Ashland has 100 years of pride and tradition. We have two or three. We can pick this up next year, as far as I'm concerned, 'cause right now we have UNFINISHED BUSINESS! If one is selfless, he realizes that the district champ's success makes the whole district look better; if he's selfish and consumed, then there's professional help out there.

Johnson Central has a very good team this year. I think they will pull this one out early in the game.

Many, including myself, have criticized Johnson Central's soft schedule, but to be honest, I don't know that Rockcastle has any truly impressive wins outside of the two over Bell County. And even Bell appeared to be a little below its usual standards this season.

 

Whichever team wins this week will have done it against the best team on their schedule.

with out ruffling any feathers (pun intended) I truly believe that the Patriots of Lincoln would beat Johnson Central. I know they beat Rockcastle. So, with that being said, I think that Rockcastle will be the best team that Johnson Central has faced all year while Johnson Central will be the second best team that Rockcastle has faced this year.

I would pick Johnson Central to beat Lincoln County. For what it's worth, both Cantrall and Massey rated Johnson about 10 points better than Lincoln in their final regular-season ratings.

I see this game being something more than the two teams.

 

The Mountains will send their best team up against NK. I think JC wins in a squeeker, best I will go on record to say whichever team wins, the blue collar and hardnosed football of the mountains will gain some respect in the final 4. Heck, we might even see a mountain team in the finals!

I'm going with the Rock in a down to the wire battle.

The reason he went for two was because the Cardinals didn't have a kicker who could consistently kick an extra point. And by the way the Sheldon Clark talent pool was loaded from 1999 - 2000. After winning the Regional Championship in 98 with mostly underclassmen they underachieved the next two years.

SC had alot of seniors on the 98 team. At one point they had as many as 9 or 10 senors starting and most of them going both ways.

Anybody have any thoughts on the best way to get to the game from Rockcastle? Mapquest says to go to Winchester and down the Bert Combs Parkway. The Mt. Vernon Signal says to go to London and the Hal Rogers Parkway to 80, that way. Any suggestions?

Best way to get to Paintsville from the Rock is Mt vernon to Winchester, up the Bert Combs parkway and hang a left on 460. The roads are much better that way than the other way. I have travelled that way many times to the horse show in paintsville for the last 20 years.
