The bucket list thread concerning golf got me thinking about my bucket list in life. What are some things on your bucket list?

 

1. Attend any game of any World Series

2. Eat a meal prepared by a world class chef

3. See a Bengals playoff win :lol:

The bucket list thread concerning golf got me thinking about my bucket list in life. What are some things on your bucket list?

 

1. Attend any game of any World Series

2. Eat a meal prepared by a world class chef

3. See a Bengals playoff win :lol:

 

Seen or done all 3.

- Have a Hofbrau beer at the Munich Hofbrauhaus.

- Visit Rome and attend mass at St. Peter’s.

- Restore a car.

- Visit Olympic National Park, the California Redwood Forest, the Badlands, Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone (that’s the order of preference).

- Take a riverboat cruise on The American Queen.

- Take a multi-day trip on a train in an overnight room.

My problem is that I have one bucket list because I am married and one bucket list that I had to throw away because I am married.:sssh:

Tour the American West.

Tour the British Isles.

New Zealand/Australia.

 

Most everything on my sports bucket list is checked off. World Series game (1990 game 2), INDY 500, football playoffs (Colts - Raiders; the snake to the ghost), local high school Sweet 16 championship at Rupp (twice); met many of my boyhood sports idols (especially Brooks and Frank Robinson); that kind of stuff.

 

Got to see my daughter on the Rupp floor in 2006 when she was chosen to participate in the halftime shooting contest. That was pretty cool.

 

Any more, most of my current bucket list stuff is travel-related or seeing my children (and ultimately, my grandchildren) thrive and succeed.

To visit all 31 NHL arenas, preferably when the Lightning play there.

To go on an Alaskan Cruise.

To go to Italy, Ireland and Germany.

To see a Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium.

To see a Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium.

 

We toured AT&T Stadium a couple weekends ago. It was pretty darn cool. Got a few good pics on the star.

Throw out the first pitch at an MLB game.

 

Give a University Commencement Address.

9 years ago when I was sitting at Fort Knox I wrote out a bucket list. I think it was probably 100 items long. I’m not sure where I put the list but it may be packed away in a box of stuff from my wall locker.

 

There were the sporting things like:

-Attend a World Series game

-Attend a Super Bowl game

-World Cup match

 

And there were life things like:

-Get married (I can check that off in September)

-Have kids (hopefully one day I’ll be able to check this off)

 

And the travel items like:

-Sydney

-Paris

-Pyramids of Giza

 

And probably some longshot items that I don’t even remember.

On the cowboys game, I've got a co-worker flying to Dallas to attend the game this Thursday.

2 Items that I have a less than zero percent chance of ever doing:

 

Going to the highest point in all 50 states, or at least the lower 48.

Hiking the entire Appalachian Trail

 

A third would be to go to a Champions League game at Anfield (Liverpool).

Dad loved to tell this story....

 

Mom attended mass at St. Peter's Easter Sunday 1957. Dad was outside of the square and a guy came up to him, with a long coat on, hawking crosses and rosaries. Dad told him he wan't Catholic, so the guy opened the other side of his coat and tried to sell him dirty pictures.

Sports list.. Watch UC play in an NCAA championship game.

Life list.... Live long enough to see my 2 grandkids graduate.
