I’ve seen him on film. I can’t wait to watch him in person next week.

South Warren is the only team in 5A that would have any chance against Covington Catholic. It will be an upset if South Warren wins. South Warren has scored more points and allowed fewer points than Covington Catholic. However, South Warren did it against a weaker schedule. If South Warren plays their best game of the year, I think they can get the upset but they cannot make any mistakes at all. That is a tough way to have to play and win a football game.

I think the Spartans pull the upset.

After watching CovCath earlier in the year and seeing South Warren on Friday, I have to give it to CovCath. It will be closer than last seasons game between these two but the Colonels have all the tools to move the ball against that defense. They can attack all areas and levels of the field passing and run both inside and out. There is enough balance to keep South Warrens defense guessing. Have to go see this one!

Cov Cath is a different kind of beast. Running clock, late into the game.

I think this is where the South Warren train will stop.

 

Against a team like CCH is where SW simple playbook will come up short, Spurrier's soft passes and inability to hit receivers that are covered will stall out the offense and likely have them playing from behind. If SW has to play from behind more than a score I think they will be in trouble.

 

Their OL and DL have be so much better than anyone they have played this season they have just been able to run simple plays and win. I don't think that will be the case with CC.
