Second verse, same as the first.

The frist game was billed as a Mr. Football showdown; Beaumont did it all for Male, including an impressive defensice one-on-one with Anderson.

X's team will keep it close, there won't be a first half blowout in this one... but there also won't be X dominating the second half.

First game Vic was a relative non-factor, the D-line was not given the green light to be aggressive till the 2nd half, and the offense showed no imagination until the 2nd half. Do you really think they will nuetralize Vic twice, much less on a fast field? IF the X offense and defense come out fired out and play a full game... the Tigers win the rematch:ylsuper:

Lets wait and see, but remember Male was two plays from being up 35-0 at the half.

MALE................big....#1 all year and kicking

MAKE IT SO........kirkout:walk: :walk: :walk:

Male will be sky high for this game and this time they will realize they have to keep slugging for four quarters to pull it out. I'd say the outcome of this game is a 50/50 toss-up.

Although, if Vic wears special shoes, H wins by 7

I have changed my mind on this game. Earlier I thought that Male would defeat X in round two. I now feel that X will prevail in the rematch. X now knows that they can throw the ball deep on Male. I look for them to throw the deep ball from the start of the game forcing Male to back off a little on D. This will open up the running game for Vic and "The Deuce". I also look for Zoeller to have a big night running the ball Friday.

X 25

H 21

I am wavering my vote for H for 2 reasons- 1) X upgraded the kickoff by going to the soccer player so returns will happen only half of the time

2) X's leading receiver didn't play against H first time-Passafuime- which gives the X QB another option. Passafuime is also the first team holder and while they missed 2 on Friday, more reps gains more confidence in the XP.

It's time for Victor to show up in a big game in a big way. Last chance or go home. Shoes or no shoes.

Now in favor of H, 1)they have seen how X will exploit them and Coach R has 3 weeks to make the adjustment.

2) Overall team speed on a faster track than Lake Manual Stadium

3) Who starts at QB for X? Indecision over whose going to lead could find us down early again. If I had to guess what QB Coach G is going to pick, I would say Wade. I didn't say I agree, I said that's who I thought would start.

4) H's offensive line dominated until they got tired. More Beaumont running in the second half.

Male holds on to win over X 28-24.

Any word on where this will be played? Obviously, PJCS has the best playing surface, but it's Male's call.[/b]

Game will be at Male. I can't wait to see this game. Have a feeling Male will win by a TD.

as I posted about Trinity vs. Ballard, it's hard to beat a team twice, Male loses this one, in a game just as good.

Maybe X should go for two every time?

STX (-2)

I expect the PRP game was a wake up call for Male. No doubt Male has a lot of work to do but when I was watching the game against PRP, I noticed that Male didnt look like they had all year. Then again, as I have said all year long, I think the lack of competition except game 1 vs X really hurts Male. Glaser is perhaps the best when it comes to adjustments and I feel that Finch will be more of a factor in this game than Anderson.

Vs. PRP, I noticed that Gainey had to scramble a lot and the receivers just werent on the same page with him or each other, with many receivers "adjusting" their routes to a point where 2 or 3 were in the same area when the ball was thrown. Gainey isnt throwing as well as he needs to to be as efficient. The days of just throwing it up and letting your athletes go get it are OVER. Where PRP failed to get interceptions, X will certainly get them. I think for Male to be successful, they need to do a lot of play action to Beaumont and let other receivers make catches. IMO, Male tries to hard to make big TD plays instead of getting 10-12 yards and moving on (Hence all of the deep passes). My thinking would be to try and keep X's offense off the field as long as possible and win the possession battle.

Male needs to get rid of the "trick plays" and go back to basic, fundamental football. Let Beaumont set up everything else. Run him, use him as a receiver, use him as a decoy. Yes he is a playmaker, but he cant beat X by himself.

X doesnt usually make the same mistake twice and I feel that if this game comes down to special teams, X will be focusing on that area a lot this week.

At this point, its hard to predict becuase you just dont know what either team is going to do.

But I think this game comes down to the following keys:

For Male to win:

1. Sustain long drives and dont try to get the homerun play every time you pass the ball, keep X's offense off the field. Force the X defense to win the game

2. Win field position battle

3. Eliminate or keep turnovers down to no more than 1.

For X to win:

1. Use both Anderson & Finch. Keep Male's defense guessing.

2. Make key catches against one on one coverage.

3. Win the special teams game. Good punting, convert FGs & XPs and dont let Male's Returners get more than 20 yards on all returns.

Prediction St. X 34 Male 30

Dude, man great post and insight. I'm not saying nothing...Let the game be played. I know nothing about football. But Male doesn't want to go home after the last two years.

St. X in the rematch 34-31.

Was Male a play away from going up 28-0 in the first game?

Male has the best skill position players in the state over all. X plays well in close games. Will go with Male solely because of the X factor (MR FOOTBALL) Beaumont.

Male 28

X 24

Was Male a play away from going up 28-0 in the first game?

Sam Webb jumped on 2nd or 3rd down from the X one in the first half and backed Male up 5 yards. There was also a pass play to #88 Nik Brazley that he almost broke for a TD (shoestring tackle by X DB).
