Tough luck for Dixie, I was hoping for a rematch. We did not play our best game that night. Great season to both teams.

Wrong. Just go back and read some of the bigmouth Dixie posts about the past two games and all of the big talk about Dixie from last summer on. Ryle shut them up and beat them up. Good job, Raiders.

:thumb: Turn that upside down. Bigmouth must translate into=support their team and predict they win............

As always the shame of the matter is that some Raider fans don't have an iota of the class that their players do. Phrases like 'Shut up", "beat up" and "bigmouth" reflect more on the author than they do the subject. Congrats Ryle players and Classy fans, get after it Friday night. Dixie Pride will ride again. Work harder, set the goals high for next season, support your NK brethren in the next level of play-offs.

:thumb: Right on. Awesome post. It's a shame that MOST Dixie fans on here can lose with class and congratulate the other team but a few sour apples amongst the Ryle faithful can't WIN with class. This is high school people. There should never be ANY bad talk at all about either team, players, coaches, or program. Those young men give it their all every friday night, win or lose. IMO some need to take a step back and give a little more credit to both teams and quit making excuses for any reason as to why they won or lost b/c to be honest some of those KIDS are working harder day to day than some adults on here.

Bottom line, show some class whether you win or lose. You gain alot more respect and seem much more educated. Once again...this is HIGH SCHOOL. Grow up a little.

First of all, best wishes to all Dixie seniors and congratulations for all of the hard work that you put in. You can be very proud of what you accomplished in spite of an unexpected losing season this year. Both games were very enjoyable and played with great intensity. Football players from all teams rock! One last post about this game just to respond to the previous comments of people that I fired up (I do understand and appreciate what you are saying and apologize if I offended you) and then on to Campbell, another very good football team just like Dixie.

I'll just pick a sample of four quotes by Dixie fans and the facts of what transpired. Hopefully, it will help you understand. If not, at least I tried to explain myself.

itrz: Dixie isn't a one or two man show like ryle. They play as one.

Oh really??? The obvious reference was that Ryle is a Vince Murray or Scott Gray show and they do not play as one like Dixie does. When's the last time you saw one running back get about 500 yards in 2 games (not to mention the 100+ yards by other backs) against a solid defensive team like Dixie without great lead blocking and great offensive line play. Ryle and Dixie are both 60-70 man shows. Football is the ultimate team sport and the better TEAM won both games. Ryle is a very close team and they play as one.

S32:

"Don't put too much stock in the outcome of last weeks game. This is the real game and we all knew it would be a rematch anyway. Coaching will win this one. Sorrell's D will shut down the Raiders as usual, and the O will get the job done. "

Oh really?? This said after Ryle just ran all over the Dixie defense in Game 1 for over 350 yards (a version of shutting someone down as usual????). I guess the first time was because it was not a meaningful game to fight for homefield advantage in the playoffs. Ryle did it again in the "real" game with over 400 yards of total offense. Were it not for several unusual drops of passes by wide open players in the game, Ryle would have been over 500 yards of T.O. versus a solid defensive team. I do give S32 credit for being right about one thing: coaching did win the game!

DC: "Beating up" the opponents qb is not something to gloat about.

DC obviously infers that the injury to Bricking was a result of "beating up", or dirty play. Wrong. Joey got hurt because a very good, strong and quick football player drove him to the ground on his throwing shoulder in a hard and clean tackle, just the way players are taught to wrap up and drive their opponent to the ground. If an injury occurs due to a hard tackle, that's an unfortunate part of the game that every team knows so well. Kyle Benke (Ryle's very good junior QB who is getting better and better each week and will help this team meet its goals) got his jaw broken because a very good, strong and quick CovCath player wrapped him up and drove him to the ground in a hard and clean tackle. Ryle's DB's did "beat up" the Dixie receivers a few times in good, clean, hard-hitting shots that is good football. Hey, speaking of beating up, Dixie got flagged for 3 illegal chop blocks in the 2 games and could have got called for many more. That is a dangerous play that can easily hurt an opponent's knee. Ryle did get flagged for several late hits in the game and that is not good football. NO room for late hits or dirty hits in football.

BG: Bricking plays, Dixr wins last two weeks.

Oh, really?? Look at Bricking's stats for the year. Mosier's completion percentage was about the same or better. Joey's very first pass in game 1 was picked off and he threw 2 other bad balls and a few nice balls. Matt Mosier was brilliant and threw some great balls and was a very elusive and tough runner. Matt was more difficult to defend on the run than Bricking and I commend him for being a champion and playing an awesome game. Simply stated, Mosier was outstanding. To say that Dixie wins both games with Bricking is laughable. The best TEAM won both games.

Both teams played their hearts out in both games. What can you say about a food-poisoned Scott Gray who could barely walk and played like a champion for the reps he could put in. Congrats to Ryle and best wishes to all Dixie seniors as you pursue life goals! On to another very good opponent. We welcome the Camels to our house!

Geeez, give it a rest, your team won. Here's your pat on the back.:D

Come on! "Beating up" the opponents qb is not something to gloat about. Ryle has a great team and deserved to win! They are all around solid and congrats to them. Continued success on your road to the championship! Considering how I think Raider fans felt after your qb was out earlier in the season and after that tough loss last year for the district championship, I think a little less smack and a little more compassion would be in order. There are alot of classy Ryle posters here. Follow their lead please. Dixie players can be proud they gave it their all but came up short against alot of adversity. Ryle won a heartfelt game without all of their weapons also. Best of luck to both Ryle and Campbell County. Represent Northern Kentucky with pride and class as you continue your march to the 4A title! Dixie fans will be rooting for you to bring it home to No. Ky.! :thumb:

I know this winning playoff games is a new experience for some of the Raider Nation, but jeez. Hats off to both sides IMO. Dixie played their tails off, despite being down several starters, and made a game of it to say the least. If not for a phenomenal touchdown run late in the half, its a 14-12 ballgame folks. I was very impressed with the Mosier kid, he did it all tonight. What can I say about Ryle? Scotty Gray, you make an old timer like me proud, suiting up and playing despite food poisioning. Vince Murray it is an absolute joy to watch you play the game.

But please, please. As an old coach used to say.......act like you've been there before(even though some of you might not have). And sorry FBstud, this wasn't necessarily directed at you, I just liked your post.

Bulldog77 - You said it very well and with "class". Good luck to Ryle and Campbell County in the play-off's.

It's a shame that after a Ryle win that some Ryle fans are still focusing on certain players. Bricking is a fine QB, so get off his case and stop going on about pic's , his "off season", etc. As for the Dixie team, you played with class against a team who must value being "physically destuctive on the field." That;s a quote from the hype leading up to this game. I feel that if a player throws a punch or hits with the intent to do physical harm, the coaches must step in and teach. Enough said

Dixie players, you should be proud! Walk tall. Comngrats to all the seniors and best of luck in the future!

Congrats Ryle. You earned both victories the past two weeks.

Dixie, it was a joy cheering for you this year. We have a lot to look forward to again next year.

LuvThemRaiders... Why haven't you mentioned anything about the fellow who spoiled Dixie's entrance onto the field by running through our sign? Since you like to pick out previous posts and analyze them, I'm interested in hearing your criticism of this week's intentional act after you offered such a negative opinion about Dixie last week after their unintentional mistake.

What's the deal with Dixie's players running through the little piece of paper right in the middle of the singing of the national anthem? I got to stand on the sideline tonight and was very surprised and sad to see that happen. Ryle's players waited respectfully behind their piece of paper and Dixie's kids act like the anthem is not being sung. Shame on them.

Seems this thread will not end...I saw two good teams playing each other hard, doing their best to win last Friday, each handicapped to some extent with players out. Ryle worked hard, clearly earned the win. Dixie gave it their all, Mosier deserves huge credit the way he played, left his heart on the field.

To the many reading this and not posting, we should realize all the discussion is by a few people, each with strong opinions. Yeah a few people say things before games, that is part of it. The sportmanship at the game was very good on both sides,

I saw some of the Dixie and Ryle players congratulating each other off the field after the game, talking, showing respect for each other and great sportmanship.

I think most N KY fans follow each other as the playoffs advance. It was great when Dixie went to Lou and beat Trinity 2 years ago, a win for all

N KY, especially if you follow what they say about us down there. Most were for Boone last year at Trinity. Lets keep that same spirit which I know already exists.

Now there are two camps, for Ryle or Campbell. Time to talk about this week, which camp are you in? That theread needs to be started. There will be a hard fought game this Friday, then next week we will all be in the winners camp as we take on the state! Thats the way N KY 4A football should be!

People think CCH and HHS do not like each other. Trust me, its got nothing on NKY 4A and 1A football.

Well said NKFUTBALLFAN:thumb: :thumb:

Now lets get that Ryle/Campbell thread going.

I would have posted sooner but I left to go out of town immediately after the game and I didn't get back until now.

Moiser played better than anyone could have expected. If you didn't know any better you would have thought he played QB all year. I did think that he wore down a bit from playing both ways and in hindsight he should have taken fewer snaps on D. During the game I mentioned to the guy next to me that they might be asking him to do too much. I talked to him the night before the game and I was both surprised and pleased that he seemed quietly confident that he could handle the QB position.

I don't think that Ryle wanted it more than Dixie. I thought that Ryle was able to wear Dixie down with their running game and Dixie's D might have been a little tired when Ryle scored on that crucial run right before half. It seemed to take the wind out of Dixie's sails. Dixie didn't have a answer to Murray all night. Dixie knew he was going to get the ball and they couldn't stop it. I also thought that Ryle's D made the right adjustments at the half. They took away the quick slant to Detmer that worked so well on both of Dixie's drives that resulted in TD's.

I would also like to say that I was very impressed with the way Scottie Grey conducted himself after the game. He could have been off celebrating the victory but he made a point of seeking out Moiser and congratulating him on his effort during the game.

To Dixie's seniors I would like to congratulate you on a great carreer. Even though you would have preferred to still be playing, all good things must come to an end sometime and Friday night was not your night. You can hold your head high knowing you gave a valiant effort. I know that for some of you seniors I have been watching play for a long time. I could (and perhaps should) say something about all the seniors but I'll settle for mentioning two and leave the rest to others. To Jason Stahlkamp I would like to say that you played with as much emotion as any other player I have ever seen and it's a joy to watch a player play with as much heart as you. To Jake Neugent who could have easily quit football after surgeries on both knees and both shoulders, I respect your positive outlook in the midst of adversity; it's obvious that your love of the game kept you coming back. Again, cogratulations to Jason, Jake and all the seniors.
