Ryle 24 Dixie 12

Featured Replies

It's a shame that after a Ryle win that some Ryle fans are still focusing on certain players. Bricking is a fine QB, so get off his case and stop going on about pic's , his "off season", etc. As for the Dixie team, you played with class against a team who must value being "physically destuctive on the field." That;s a quote from the hype leading up to this game. I feel that if a player throws a punch or hits with the intent to do physical harm, the coaches must step in and teach. Enough said

Dixie players, you should be proud! Walk tall. Comngrats to all the seniors and best of luck in the future!

Let's not turn this into insults against players or teams, we're all better than that. Football is a violent game, and I have no doubts that both sides were trying to be as "physically destructive" as possible out there. Ryle is a physical team, no doubt, given the nature of their offense and defense. But I didn't see anything that I'd classify as "dirty" play. Just 2 teams giving it their all out on the field. Congrats to both sides on a hard, well fought game and good luck to both going forward.

Seems this thread will not end...I saw two good teams playing each other hard, doing their best to win last Friday, each handicapped to some extent with players out. Ryle worked hard, clearly earned the win. Dixie gave it their all, Mosier deserves huge credit the way he played, left his heart on the field.

To the many reading this and not posting, we should realize all the discussion is by a few people, each with strong opinions. Yeah a few people say things before games, that is part of it. The sportmanship at the game was very good on both sides,

I saw some of the Dixie and Ryle players congratulating each other off the field after the game, talking, showing respect for each other and great sportmanship.

I think most N KY fans follow each other as the playoffs advance. It was great when Dixie went to Lou and beat Trinity 2 years ago, a win for all

N KY, especially if you follow what they say about us down there. Most were for Boone last year at Trinity. Lets keep that same spirit which I know already exists.

Now there are two camps, for Ryle or Campbell. Time to talk about this week, which camp are you in? That theread needs to be started. There will be a hard fought game this Friday, then next week we will all be in the winners camp as we take on the state! Thats the way N KY 4A football should be!

Great post! :thumb:

Congrats Ryle. You earned both victories the past two weeks.

Dixie, it was a joy cheering for you this year. We have a lot to look forward to again next year.

LuvThemRaiders... Why haven't you mentioned anything about the fellow who spoiled Dixie's entrance onto the field by running through our sign? Since you like to pick out previous posts and analyze them, I'm interested in hearing your criticism of this week's intentional act after you offered such a negative opinion about Dixie last week after their unintentional mistake.

I didn't see this as I was a bit preoccupied at the time, a man has to eat you know. What exactly happened? Was it a player, student, random person who ran through the sign? If it was anyone associated with Ryle, that is an absolutely classless act, and I hope whomever was responsible is dealt with in the appropriate manner.

I did not see what happened but did hear about it. If it was indeed a Ryle student he will be bragging about it at school today. I'm positive the administration will deal with whomever is responsible. Great game by both teams - this thread should be over and let's move on to the next game. Remember Raider fans focus on the game and don't give CC any fuel to come into our house! Remember what he built and build on it!

Excluding post #42 this thread is laughable. For Fisky to even begin to imply that an injury sustained by a Dixie player was intentional is completely ridiculous and I would hope they would be suspended from posting something like that again.

This thread was supposed to be about the GAME. What I find amazing is that Dixie has beaten us many times, and some years we took a pounding, and they spend pages of a thread talking about every little detail of the game. They talk about how great Dixie is, how inferior Ryle is to their program, etc, etc.. But this year Ryle wins,in back to back weeks no less and all they can harp on is the behavior of a few in the stands. Surprised? No. But disappointed? Yes.

Let me refresh your memory for some of you. I could go back many years but I will start with last year Ryle v Dixie @ Dixie. Was it inappropiate for the cheerleaders to bring the sign they brought last year? Yes, but they are kids and kids sometimes make mistakes.I also remember last year that as all of the Ryle parents were making their way to the visitor stands, we were being pelted by little stones. Some not so little since a young girl with her mom got a chipped tooth. Even some Dixie fans that were obviously past high school felt the need to heckle and demean the spirit of competition. I remember years ago at another game at Dixie, the players were hit by rocks and pop cans as they stood on the sidelines. Then this year, Dixie's coach had to unbelievably, in the middle of a heated game stop play and admonish fans for throwing debris on the playing field. I am looking feverishly but for some reason I cannot find the "class" in any of those instances. But for most of those things they are kids and like i said kids make mistakes. Unfortunately there were adults participating in some and that is truly the sad part. Then at our game, the boy that ran through the sign should not have done so, I completely agree with you. But to rant on about that and excuse completely Dixie for not noticing the national anthem is absurd. I find it a liitle hard to swallow that a stadium full of people standing facing the American Flag did not trigger at least one player or one coach to let everyone know that it was time to stop and show respect. The fact is that the two teams had a great battle 2 weeks in a row, it was exciting to watch them all play their hearts out. Sadly, this time for Dixie the 2nd game was a do or die situation and they came up on the wrong side of the W that night. We have been there many times so we feel your heartache especially for the seniors who have played with absolutely every ounce they had week after week. The awesome thing to me was watching the players on the field after the game. Both sides shaking hands and talking to one another, being great sportsmen. Some were heartbroken, some were elated but they were all dignified and respectful of each other. We could all learn from their behavior. The players left it all on the field and we should too.
