There is a little case history here. In the Fall of 2003, Trinity and Brian Brohm started the year losing their first four and won the state championship.

Look, we all know you're a spin-doctor for Simon Kenton sports. If Simon Kenton wins their first game huge, then Simon Kenton is "coming out strong". If they play like crap in their first game, then it's "well who plays strong in their first game anyway?". It gets old. Simon Kenton is playing okay and is 5-0 against their perennially mediocre schedule. Fact is, Simon Kenton was being stroked by Meade County in the 1st half of their game, and barely pulled out a win. Now Meade County lost a game to a 4A school, and you're trying to chalk it up Simon Kenton's performance against them to first game jitters. I saw earlier when you tried to knock Highlands for their schedule while saying Simon Kenton had beaten "solid teams", or some nonesuch like that.

 

You just can't help but see things through your incredibly, incredibly, incredibly blue-tinted glasses. Good for you for cheering on your home team, but I appreciate people who are capable of realistic takes on their home team.

I like Male and the winner of the Frederick Douglass vs. Scott County game. However the proverbial "elephant in the room" St. Xavier and trinity still loom especially if they can get somewhat healthy. This would be the best opportunity for a public school to step up this year.

I get the love for FD and what they’re doing as a new kid on the block is impressive but they’re gonna get their chance to prove it against Scott County.
