Mainly same coaches as last year. I know they have new offensive coordinator and know they were looking for a secondary coach.

Jesse Cantrell. Was Head Coach at Bardstown Bethlehem last year.

Not that I know much about the previous staff, but I’m a little surprised there hasn’t been a little more turnover, especially with a new coach not from the previous staff.

It could be that Coach Wallace doesn't want to make too many changes right off the bat, more gradual. I mean Wolford tried a bunch of changes in his first year that didn't really turn out too well. Of course I could be remembering that completely wrong, so I may have missed something there.

I think part of it is not going to get BG assistants to move up here.

I personally believe it is out of respect for BGHS that he hasn't pulled more Purples coaches that he is familar with to come to Poplar Level Road. He doesn't want BG to have to start completely over just because he's moving on. He is that kind of guy. And just my opinion.

I think he will wait and make some adjustments over the summer next year when things have settled a bit and he can do it on his own time and terms.

I don't know anything about the assistant coaches for Bowling Green, but what would prompt an assistant to pull up stakes and disrupt his family and move 120 miles up the road to be an assistant at St. X ...... or Trinity or any other school? I don't see the allure of this for a mere (low paying, part time) high school job.

Absolutely. For an assistant to pick up like that it would have to be a young assistant who is being prompted.

This upcoming season might be the best chance Saint Xavier will have in years to defeat their arch rival. After this coming season, Trinity should return to their winning ways two years from now.
