Wow I just assumed they had around 100, I’m impressed by the numbers. And if Ballard beat St. X in a scrimmage then The Boyle/Ballard game could go very differently than most expect. Anybody else have any info on the scrimmage?

Ballard and X did not scrimmage. They played 7 on 7. X coach told me they won, but really don’t matter since games are won/loss in the trenches.

This practice schedule requires a lot of time and commitment from the coaches it would seem.

It was 7v7 scrimmage I believe. I would say from what I saw Ballard scored one more than X. These games mean nothing but gives skill players a chance to showcase their talent.

First time I saw Carr and Casey play and both look good. X looked good as a team as well.

Yeah, I’m sure it was close match.

What is X’s oline looking like? I know they lost a couple D1 guys last year

That is biggest question mark. I’ll be most interested in seeing them in scrimmage against Simon Kenton. Out of 160 kids, there should at least be 5 good ones.

Are there any out of state teams on St. X’s schedule this year? Are they going to Indy to play Cathedral?

Only out of state team is Cinncinnati St.X and play up there.

Saint X has numbers 10-12. Where the numbers are off for the Tigers is their freshmen team. Around 70 players. That is a little off. X at that level produces 100-125 players per year. Trinity at the 9th grade level is normal at around 65-80 players a year. The exception was the late 80’s and early 90’s when Trinity had 9th grade teams exceeding 100 players.

I think 70 is a good number for Coach Wallace.

CSAA football is dwindling so not surprised. CSAA has had to combine schools and only fielding 8 teams. Seems to be dying sport. Im sure this having an impact on X numbers.

Tigerpride94’ i agree with each of your points. Back in the 50’s and 60’s each parish fielded a football team. Now with all the negative publicity pertaining to the head trauma issue the mom’s are putting their foot down. Unless the safety issue can be solved, we might be seeing the beginning of the end of high school football. The decrease in numbers is alarming.

Girls soccer nationwide had more concussions than football did.... Just sayin..
