I know a Final Four run is always special, but does Kentucky really want to get there .... against this competition in the South?

The best team of Wildcats in this matchup are the ones from Kansas State. They played in the much tougher Big 12, and will put a beat down on the Wildcats from Kentucky on Thursday night.

Kansas State 85

Kentucky 67

I kept debating on posting this nonsense. Almost made a "Awful Takes From the Weekend" thread. Just dumb.

Heart says U.K. Refuse to listen to my head which remembers February team.

So what exactly would it take to not think about the February team? Since apparently winning 9 of 10 since then, a sec title, and sweet 16 appearance hasn't changed that. If they make the final four, would your head still only remember the February team? What about if they win the title. Would it be that's great, but man they lost 4 in a row in February?

Imo how about realizing that 4 game losing streak is probably what led to them finally figuring out the type of consistent effort needed to do well. It took that 4 game losing streak to get the team to start playing as it is now.

K State will do everything they can to muck this game up and make it slow and ugly. They'll try to keep it in the low 60's.

Fortunately we have been through that approach several times this year. I could see us getting one good run and getting up by 8 or so, then holding that and winning by 12-15 at the end if they start fouling.

But then again. I'll be happy if we win by 1.

if UK can hit there Fts in this one they'll win by at least 10. Kansas St will try to limit UKs ability to get transition points by prolonging each offensive possession and working to get very good looks.

Heart says you are 100% right and Dr. Jekyll will be on the floor Thursday. Tend to hope for the best, but not surprised when Mr. Hyde shows up. Took the losses for this team to buy into their roles. Coach C has done a great job holding the leash. But, we probably ought to nickname this team "the Feral Wildcats".

Kentucky 71-60.

Question.

Will Vanderbilt be available for Thursday? Does anyone know?

I don’t know what Matt Jones’ sources are but he said on his radio show this morning that he had heard the ankle was only around 70% and hadn’t healed like they thought it would. He said he doesn’t think he will play anymore this year.

What kind of ankle injury did he have, I wonder? Even if Vanderbilt gives UK nothing on the court, having the five extra fouls is critical with a poor interior defensive team.

As usual this one will closer then most think. UK by 8.

Agreed.

It'll be closer than we'd like.

UK by 5.

Vanderbilt is practicing today.

Well, Matt needs to find new sources, lol.
