Three fine choices, no doubt. Of course, when one is being guarded by the likes of Perry Dalton, quickness can be a life saver...

Is No. 2 one of your favorites Frances?

I never guarded these kids but more recently three names really jump out when I think of quickness.

Duran Jefferson - Holmes

Doug Beaumont - Male

Mike Hester - Simon Kenton

These three can get from one end of the floor to the other in a flash. ( with or without the ball )

Am I the only one who thinks that Joshua Mack from University Heights is "world class" quick???

Has anyone out there seen this dude play or tried to guard him???

Mack belongs among the best on this thread - or am I dreaming???

World Class might be a little much but the dude is quick and is a very good player no doubt.

Dirk Minnifield always said as quick as Dicky Beal was, Dwight "The Blurr" Anderson's quickness made Dicky appear average.

Who did Anderson play for?

Don't think there are too many kids on here posting on this thread, so that may be why Mack isnt on there. It's supposed to be guys you have guarded.

LOL - his quickness made him almost impossible to defend (at least, not by anyone in a wheelchair). Naturally, he had some shortcomings -

  • couldn't go to his left
  • right hand was actually weaker than his left
  • couldn't jump
  • never boxed out
  • terrible passer
  • even worse at ballhandling
  • no court awareness
  • lazy on defense

Of course, he had two immutable strengths -

he looked good in shorts, and when he was guarded by the likes of Steve Adams, he was a guaranteed two points.

JuJuan Spillman is the quickest I've ever seen. How is football coming for him at UofL?

I agree that Ronny Dawn had the quickest trigger. I remember guarding him my junior year in the "All A" and he would get the ball at half court and dribble to a spot on the floor and just pull up and knock it down every time. He could hit from 40 ft out.

Dawn was a very quick trigger... watched him play for Marshall in college vs. the KY Wildcats and he went off for like 24 pts... 7 fo 7 from 3 land I believe.

I bet he must have thrown up over 30,000 shots while growing up at the Ft. Thomas Armory.

I played against him my senior year. He is nowhere close to Spillman as far as being quick, but he is a very good player.

Mark Bell — fortunately I didn't have to guard him, as that would've been disastrous, despite my quick first step.

Hey Francis wasn't no.2 on this list the same person who was robbed of the M.V.P. trophy the year his team went undefeated in THE CLEM?

(I think BIG JON HART stole it)!:ylsuper:

Also wasn't no.2 the ONLY participant thrown out of THE CLEM for of all things, FISTICUFFS!!!!!:fight:

It's supposed to be guys you have guarded.

That leaves me out. The only thing I ever guarded was the valuables bag!
