I stole the ball from Dicky at Seaton Center while he was being defended by another person. Stole it from behind on a dead run. Didn't think there was anybody but me on the whole side of the court. As I put the ball up for the layup, with stars in my eyes, two hands come from behind me and smack the ball back to the foul line for a clean block. THE ONLOOKERS ROARED their approval. The son of a gun had run me down. Humiliation is the only word. I saw him years later and of course, he did NOT remember it.

I don't know how fast the "blur" was, but Dicky "the eel" Beal sure ran me down and I had a head start.

Might have been "Double Humiliation". I seems to me your steal was pretty humiliating for Dicky.

His block of your shot was a payback!

Who did Anderson play for?

You are making me feel old..........again.

Dwight "The Blur" Anderson played for Joe B. Hall and Kentucky in the late 1970's. Maybe the most athletic player ever to wear the blue and white!

I knew that. The thread asked for quickest played against. Who played against Anderson?

Since I answered the thread as to the "quickest you have ever played against", then I guess that the answer to your question would be "me".

Rick Jones from scott co. the fastest guy I ever had to guard.

Hey Francis wasn't no.2 on this list the same person who was robbed of the M.V.P. trophy the year his team went undefeated in THE CLEM?

(I think BIG JON HART stole it)!:ylsuper: [/Quote] If ever there was a miscarriage of justice, that was it. As I remember it, Jon Hart was a "pity vote" by most of those in attendance that year. Any unbiased fan of the game would tell you that the spark plug for that squad was Hornbuckle. I was there when he got his rebound for the tournament (it was actually a ball that hit an opponents foot and kicked out of bounds). Statistics don't lie - one tournament, one rebound. The man was a machine, I tell you. A machine.

Also wasn't no.2 the ONLY participant thrown out of THE CLEM for of all things, FISTICUFFS!!!!!:fight:
Uh - actually, no ejection. Fisticuffs were involved, but no ejection was rendered. Warranted, yes - rendered, no.

Frances

PS - but he certainly was a handsome lad in his youth.

Cool. Did you guard him. I'm guessing this is college ball.

Greg Black of The Maysville Bulldogs in 1983.

Heard he was unbelieveably fast.

1. Bammer Nolte - Ashland YMCA:scared:

2. Bluffalo Bill Hornbuckle - Ashland YMCA:rolleyes:

3. Robbie Vanhoose (right side only) - Ashland YMCA:thumb:

I didn't think I would ever see these guy labeled as quick. Now if were talking about being quick witted, yes but quick of foot, ah, no. :D

By the way, Hornbuckle did throw a punch. However, it was a punch alot of other people wanted to throw. The guy asked for it more than once.

Back on topic, Marques Dawson had the quickest hand I have ever seen.

Leroy Byrd of Bryan Station and UK.

Also known as Baby Magic Johnson. :thumb:

I'd argue that Spillman was even faster than Rondo...not nearly as talented, but quicker.

Dwight Anderson transferred to USC after his sophomore year didn't he?

Played against (Ty Shine- Withrow) Went to play at Seton Hall.

Saw??? Anthony Hughes (Holmes) 88'? Played at Farleigh Dickerson
