Johnson Central/Mason County predictions

Featured Replies

I can remember three but there could have been more. Ashland, Bryan Station, and Southpoint all had one.

That will get you here in plenty of time.

Since you asked, skip the chili and head straight for Pasquale's.

it's about 2 or 3 miles past the school on 68.

Friday night special:

lg. 5 topping pizza-$8.99--- stomboli is very good too.

Well, I think Mason County will be a hard fought contest. I also think that Coach Matney will have the boys ready and focused on what is at hand. With that said, I think JC wins 28-7. Hey InTheLoop are you traveling to Mason Co with me on Friday night?

Wow! One of the biggest games of the year. Good luck Eagles. Unfortunately I will be working. So Eagle fans be careful and make sure you hoot and holler a little extra for old Lakeview. I would love a stromboli sandwich! lol

You cant go...

This game has upset written all over it but if JC comes focused they have the better team. JC wins but closer than the experts think.

Mason in an upset 23-21

A Mason County victory is VERY possible in this game. I know Matney will have his team ready for war. This is the only really long road game JC has played since the first week @ North Laurel.

Johnson Central 35-14.

If both of these teams play up to full potential, JC gets the W. I am anxious to see how the Eagles respond after the shellacking they put on the Tomcats last week. That was an emotional win for their program and sometimes there is a letdown after such events. Personally, I don’t think JC will experience a letdown but highly motivated effort is not something which can automatically be duplicated every week or sustained for long periods of time.

The only weak link I recognized with JC is a vulnerable secondary and this may play into Mason’s strong suit. Believe me, one has to look long and hard to even find a weakness with this year’s Eagles.

At the risk of getting off topic, I wanted to congratulate JC on their win last Friday. The appropriate thread had already been closed by the time I got back online. To say I was impressed with their team would be a gross understatement. JC is deserving of their top 5 ranking and has clearly identified themselves as the team to beat in our district and perhaps region as well.

I hope to see a big crowd travel from Paintsville to Maysville on Friday evening. We will need a big cheering section to support our kids. I also hope that the school will take a bunch of pep buses for the students. This is for all the marbles, lets go all out.

Pep buses would be a great idea. Alot of students wont be able to go because of where the game is at. The only game I can ever remember getting out of school early for is way back when Johnson Central played @ Bell County. If I remember correctly, we got out of school at 12:30. There shouldnt be any need of that for this game. The team might leave school as soon as they can.

Does Mason County have turf?

I wonder how many teams have been top 5 in their class and finished third in their district? My Eagles wont know what hit them....

My Eagles wont know what hit them... I doubt that very seriously. Johnson Central wins the district for only the 2nd time in school history friday night.

I like Mason in this game. I think that overall they seem to be a better tackling team then Ashland . If you shut Grimm down then there isnt to much there - no disrespect to the BIG fullback.
