Some X people may not like this, but I honestly think that the reason Trinity is where they are now in football is due to their pursuit to "the best coach" and not the person "who has paid their dues the most" or directly affiliated with the program. I'm not saying those in this category at X are not good people or not good coaches but if you want to compete with Trinity you need the absolute best to do that. Just my opinion.

It won't be Yeast...if it is for some crazy reason then I would be shocked along with losing all respect for St. X and their ability to get a stable and quality coach. If you have looked at Yeast's track record...he is ALWAYS looking for the next best thing...bouncing around from school to school. I would think St. X would want someone like Scroggins, Wallace or Chuck Smith who have been successful where they have been along with stable. JMHO.

Very valid point. I think Walsh and Bruner are the two legit in house candidates. If I was on the hiring committee it would come down to gettin away from some of traditional X football philosophies. Who is going to come in and put their own stamp on the program and who is going to stay with the status quo? The outside he box thinker is my choice, whoever that is.

 

But I do hope the committee picks the best candidate, not just the one who has been around the program a while and should get a shot.

Coach Wright would be an interesting choice. A great coach, but I can think of six jobs he’s held since leaving Trinity after one year.

He’s the head coach at IMG, surprised he would want to leave there, but it’s not as great as it appears to be on the inside. He would be an intriguing choice for sure.

That's what I thought... that might be why the X faithful wouldn't mind if Wright came to X... he has a losing record against them. :lol2:

Close to another ending to a work week...any updates about the next potential HC?

around ten candidates have been in over the past couple weeks. The goal is to get it down to three or four and then pick one. The names I have heard are pretty strong. Coach Nurnberg (last years offensive coordinator) is now the head coach of his alma mater in Georgia or Alabama.

 

I did hear some very interesting news on the Lexington Catholic job. If this person gets it would throw shock waves across Louisville.
