I also heard from someone (can’t remember exactly who it was or ties to any program) that Wallace was in the mix. According to them a former assistant coach @ BG under Wallace is now an assistant AD @ X. I didn’t research the truth in that comment, but if true, could bridge the ties to X dilemma.

X Assistant AD came from Bowling Green. I think he is X grad though. I think he may have been Assistant AD at Bowling Green.

Mike, of course, was never AD. Before Alan, it was Jerry Mayes, now Principal at Manual.

My guess on 6 of the 20 after the first cut are the 4 "in house" coaches, Kevin Wallace, and Ty Scroggins.

 

As an alumnus, with limited insight, my final two choices would be Coach Wallace and Coach Walsh. But I'm sure there are some very qualified candidates, so it wont be easy for the selection committee. I'm sure it was difficult getting from the roughly 80 applicants to 20.

I have heard that Coach Walsh was a favorite to be the next coach. There is certainly a number of solid assistants on the staff.

I'm not sure how the Catholic System works in Louisville. No doubt that Trinity has had the more talented rosters by far.

No idea if its true or not, I was told there was a phone call.

I heard yesterday that Leflors was contacted, but that he "makes too much money already". One of the current coaches seems to be very high on the list with backing from Wolford.

Bruner and Wolford had a close working relationship

My understanding (second hand info) is that Leflors benefits from free tuition for his 2 daughters at CAL. If that's true, that would be a significant benefit. St. X would have a hard time making that up in another way.

Saw Courier Journal article on the search. Said half the applicants were from out of state, including Florida and California coaches. Interesting!
