I hope that Middlesboro gets to move down to 1A as that should help them to rebuild their program. They cannot compete with the teams that are currently in their district(Danville, Somerset and LCA).

Grant should not play in District the first 2 years IMO.

I'm curious if they are requiring teams to opt in or out of district play BEFORE the alignment comes out? It read like they wanted to stop the ease of dropping out and coming back in. If teams did drop out of 1A, however, I'd expect them to just drop two down from 2A and make it 32. with 38 left in 2A.

I think grant county would end up being in the district with South Oldham possibly. If highlands plays in 5a.

Why would they? I think all of 3A hopes so, but I don't see why Boyle would.

Guys- someone called me this morning & told me about the KHSAA district maps online. I have to believe that is a working document/transition document. I don’t believe Mercer is in a district without Boyle, and our new district includes Pendleton, Russell (Flatwoods) , Fleming, Mason & Lewis.... & Taylor County.

 

Can you imagine the travel for Taylor Co. to Flatwoods???

I wonder if those two spots can be filled by teams that ask to move down though?

I wonder if Ohio petitions to play up again, a district of Ohio, Daviess, Apollo and Meade could be plausible. Meade is 3rd region. 6A out West is a mess, then Mberg, Henderson, McCracken and Marshall. Put Hardin, Bullitt and 1 Louisville school in a district. Let The western teams play each other every year for a true region champion, quit rotating district junk in 6A.
