Because it started as one of the marquee tournaments in the entire country and it still is the best Holiday tournament in Kentucky, in my opinion.

 

Also, King James was the king of England, Scotland, and France. You can be king of areas you aren't actually residing in. In fact, about a million years worth of history can back that up! :lol2:
