November 21, 20178 yr I believe he was already an Ohio retiree. I don't think he is being forced out. I have heard he is hanging up the whistle and retiring on his own.

November 21, 20178 yr He was a heck of a nice coach but (and it was only one game) if his players talked to him every game the way they did that night I can see why he’d step down. Newport is a tough place to coach, especially if you are not from around here and can’t gain the players respect. Makes me realize what a great coach Roy Lucas Sr really was

November 21, 20178 yr Yes, Tim resigned yesterday. And yes, Newport can be tough but guys like Lucas, Schlarman and the short time Schmitz was there was able to get things changed and were highly respected by the kids.
