Then how does the future of your program get any experience?

I agree with that philosophy. The team that is down should concede first or take a thumping.

PC is about to see why that philosophy is flawed. The future of the Pendleton program did not get any experience at the varsity level and therefore get better even though the games were well in hand. The future has been sacrificed in order to get a 30-40 point win versus a 20-25 point win. Coach Biggs probably knew he was leaving and didn't worry about it. This is not a criticism of him at all. He was very good for the program. It is my opinion however. The odds are that the Wildcats are about to be on the other side of taking a "thumping" for a while. Just a reflection of their talent level and experience.

So if you're losing you should quit in order to not get pummeled. Biggs didn't have to take everyone out, but when they were killing people he should have given guys rests and gotton the seniors and JV guys minutes with the varsity. They only went 7 deep and they could have subbed without killing the team.

PC has taken a thumping before and managed to survive. Schools have been using them for their Homecoming game for several years, but now they are not so egar. PC will be OK with the talent they have. We don't expect them to be like the 05 and 06 teams. Sims will do just fine with this team. Some may be surprised.

I think we have all grown to think of Pendleton as a tenth region powerhouse because of recent years. But, they arose from the tenth region sellar. I'm not saying it's back to the sellar for the Cats. I do think they are in the midst of what NFL fantasy owners refer to as a "rebuilding year".

I don't think they should be ranked below Augusta. I do think Augusta has quality talent and for once in school history, size. And Pendleton fans should know, size does matter (Elliot, Belcher's, Verax, even Davis), especially in the tenth.

Augusta has a lot to prove to me as far as competing with larger schools. I did see a lot of improvement upon that last season, when they faced Mason and Pendleton in the postseason.

They have some talent that may surprise some teams this year.

Returning are Travis Massey, Billy Graves, and Nathan Mitchell, we have two

8th graders that can play with any varsity team here in the region. Not likely they'll start but may see some varsity playing time.

HCBalla41, Brossart crushed Harrison last year in the MCIT by 24 I think it was or somewhere in that nature. They bring back their best 4 scorers and gain 3 that will produce on the big time stage. I dont see Harrison being able to beat Brossart this year.

BGgreen has Brossart ever ran the score up on Mason or Clark? Who has? I am a Fan you sure don't sound like a fan of PC, all you do is bash the ex-coach who is no longer there. As for PC/Augusta chatter they play this year in December so that should settle that issue.

I'm a Mason fan and we've had the score put on us before,Against Scott County and LexCath a few times just to name a few.Not many 10Th region teams though has accomplished the feat.As for coach O'Hearn he wont run the score up on anybody as opposed to when Coach Wells was here .

I am still solid on Augusta at 8 or 9 but it is definately above Campbell. There is no way though Augusta should be excluded from the top 10 at least. Though I would have to think that Mason and GRC are probably tied for first.

I'm going to have to agree with you there, Devilman. There are a lot more teams that also could be top ten. (St. Patrick, Paris, Bracken Co.) Deming may be more deserving considering an impressive performance against Mason in the Fieldhouse when it counted, the postseason. I also believe the Massey kid was robbed on not being a top ten player in the tenth preseason. The kid may be the best run-and-gun type deep threat in the region. In addition, he has to guard the other team's best player, rebound, and run the point. I did see Deming play this summer, too. I saw them play Augusta in Augusta and saw not only two very talented class A teams but a heated rivalry. The only reason I would put Augusta ahead of Deming in the preseason top ten would be Augusta's overall depth and Deming's lack there of. After Massey, Graves, Mitchell and the twins I don't see much on the bench and that ,among other things, hurts in the postseason. I also know that neither Harrison or Pendleton should sleep on the Devils if they draw them in the district. Travis Massey can beat you on any given night, himself. As long as the starters can stay out of foul trouble the Devils shouldn't disappoint your top ten rating Devilman.

Everybody loves the small school/underdog but we are getting carried away with Augusta and Deming in the top ten ahead of Campbell Co. Even with everything CampCo lost they are still significantly better than those two schools.

 

To say that Deming has a couple of 8th graders that could play with any one elses varsity in the region???? I am going to go out on a limb and say they are not even the best 8th graders in the region, yet the fact that they might be thought of as varsity contributors tells you everything you need to know about Deming being a top ten team.

You may never know what a small town school can do, the twins may even come along faster then most people expect, I've watched them play and it seems they can play and bang inside with the best of them, and have NO FEAR who their against.
