Predictions on 10th Region

Featured Replies

I'm going to have to agree with you there, Devilman. There are a lot more teams that also could be top ten. (St. Patrick, Paris, Bracken Co.) Deming may be more deserving considering an impressive performance against Mason in the Fieldhouse when it counted, the postseason. I also believe the Massey kid was robbed on not being a top ten player in the tenth preseason. The kid may be the best run-and-gun type deep threat in the region. In addition, he has to guard the other team's best player, rebound, and run the point. I did see Deming play this summer, too. I saw them play Augusta in Augusta and saw not only two very talented class A teams but a heated rivalry. The only reason I would put Augusta ahead of Deming in the preseason top ten would be Augusta's overall depth and Deming's lack there of. After Massey, Graves, Mitchell and the twins I don't see much on the bench and that ,among other things, hurts in the postseason. I also know that neither Harrison or Pendleton should sleep on the Devils if they draw them in the district. Travis Massey can beat you on any given night, himself. As long as the starters can stay out of foul trouble the Devils shouldn't disappoint your top ten rating Devilman.

As much of a fan that I am of Deming's I'll have to be a little critical of

T-Mass, yes you heard it hear , He seems to be going thru something right now that has kinda affected his game somewhat, what that may be is proably any number of things, I'm sure he'll grow out of it in time, just hope it's soon this is his Senior season, It seems he either is putting alot of pressure on himself or it's might be what alot of boys go thru, ie; Girlfriend, I've seen it happen before, sometimes it's the little things on the surface that can be the most difficult to deal with in life.

I just hope Travis can work both things in his young life and get back the game I know he CAN play. To me when he goes and tries to steal the ball his when he's at his best, and that's when his game takes off. I remember 2 years ago against Paris in the Class A Tournament he nailed down 31 pts so he is capable of putting numbers up like the that. :thumb:

You may never know what a small town school can do, the twins may even come along faster then most people expect, I've watched them play and it seems they can play and bang inside with the best of them, and have NO FEAR who their against.

Amen to the small town school.............That is why you never underestimate a small school. Everyone put both Deming and Augusta down. Noone expected Deming to lost to Mason, AAA School, by 15. Noone expected Augusta to make it to regionals and by the fact be down 33-34 at the half.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE WHAT A SMALL SCHOOL CAN BE CAPAPABLE OF....:ylsuper:

Losing isn't intimidating.

Everybody loves the small school/underdog but we are getting carried away with Augusta and Deming in the top ten ahead of Campbell Co. Even with everything CampCo lost they are still significantly better than those two schools.

To say that Deming has a couple of 8th graders that could play with any one elses varsity in the region???? I am going to go out on a limb and say they are not even the best 8th graders in the region, yet the fact that they might be thought of as varsity contributors tells you everything you need to know about Deming being a top ten team.

I have to agree with this one.........if we look at last year's score of the Deming vs Campbell Co game the Camels won 86-34 and Coach Reitz dressed for varsity the whole JV squad and they all played. In fact the starters played very little in this game giving way to the rest of the Camel squad. The Camel JV team won 59-17 as well playing all players. Campbell Co did not play Augusta but Deming beat Augusta last year by 10.

There is NO way Campbell would lose to Deming or Augusta....

I think though that Campbell WILL lose to Deming and Augusta no doubt in my mind.:sssh: Honestly that is what many people think that they can beat Campbell but I have never seen Campbell play Augusta so I could be wrong but here is what I see.

Well that is why you play the game because if the outcome was based upon what we thought then we all would be #1. Since these teams do not play each other regular season we will have to wait until the post. I really do not see this happening but it is America and everyone has the right to speak their mind....and as WE know America is good!!!

Camels would be 4-0. CC could typically take the kids who don't play basketball for the school and beat Deming and Augusta.

I love your school spirit and enthusiasm and all,But but I'm not quite sure Augusta or Deming will upset any of the big major schools in the Region this year. But that is why they play the games.

You can always hope....I would like to see it though. I do not think that Augusta has beat Mason since 1991 (guess why).

It is like our coach said,"many schools plan on going to regions and state. We go all out if we make it to regions and we would have a bash if we went to state."

Regions is something big for us even though many think state is a big thing for them. That is why we had that big thing last year in Bracken County. Many people took pictures of the courthouse in Brooksville because many people said you will never see Brooksville decorated like that ever again.

If Campbell County loses to Augusta and Deming twice next year, dinner for AHSPanther23 and Devilman will be on me. I admire their enthusiasm for their small schools, but I don't see CC going 0-4 against AHS and Deming.

I'll remember that mcpapa. Devilman !!! we get a free dinner !!! Where at Desha's?:jump: How about a free dinner and a ball game too? ;)

Remember there is not many small schools left. Sad thing :(

So 4 games decided by 3 pts. or less and 3 going into overtime? Here's my take on this. Augusta and Deming know very little about Cambell Co., and the Camels know very little about AHS and DHS. Untill the season starts I don't think theres much room for anaylsis upon the matchups because I doubt there are many who have info on every school in the region because of the lack of publicity many of these schools get and because some don't play each other on a yearly basis, so comparison is difficult because of the lack of information this early. Remember these teams just picked up a basketball this past week.
