I am going to disagree. I have seen several times in the past 18 years when X put a beatdown on Trinity during the regular season only to have Trinity reverse the result in the playoffs. From what I have read, both X and Ryle have improved a great deal since the early meetings with Trinity. Trinity is an obvious favorite, but don't believe all of the hype. This Trinity team still has trouble running the ball. They have room to improve and must remain focused if they plan to bring home the big prize.

I am going with defenses win championships and no one in Kentucky even scored on the T defense. And having Rondale Moore gives you the ability to score. Yes X has gotten better but not 4 TDs better! Have to go with T!

I would say Scott County and St. X are the only ones who may have a slight chance. Scott County even though they didn't win it, did play tough with two Cincinnati Powers in LaSalle and Moeller. Which we saw Moeller gave Trinity as much as they could handle. So Scott County is at least more prepared this year than in the past for a Trinity.

I didn't leave Scott County (or anyone else ) out because they are not capable of winning. I just haven't seen them. Many of the teams in the field have no chance against Trinity on Trinity's worst day. There are several others that are capable of pulling the upset. I remember Dixie Heights in 2004 and Bishop David in 1991. I was there to see both. Both were huge and unexpected upsets that "everyone" said couldn't happen.

Let me propose another question- Trinity without Rondale? Not hoping he misses the bus to the game, gets called to help out Texas that weekend, gets tickets to Disney on Ice, or any other reason is not available, does the rest of 6A at least have a chance? When he went out during the regular season game, the Trinity offense stalled. I am not wishing him to miss the game just putting a hypothetical situation to ponder.

I have not seen T without Rondale. I read that in the game vs X the Rocks offense was struggling without him on the field. It would definitely change the game a lot. The opposing defense has to commit a lot of resources to stop him and T has others who can get open. Not sure what would happen. IMO this is only vs the very top teams. Rocks would still handle the rest of the field easily.

You have to score on them to beat them. So far, no one in KY has been able to do that.

 

It's Trinity's title to lose. The only way they don't walk home with the hardware is if they don't play like they're capable of playing. I think that would be more of a Trinity over-confidence thing than it would be the other team stepping up their game.

X gave the St. X Bombers all they wanted, it's not unthinkable, but highly unlikely.

Saint Xavier and Scott Co. and possibly Male all posses the ability to beat Trinity. Can they do it? Who knows. Trinity is one of the most well coached teams that is where their secret lies. Pair that with above average talent (way above recently) and extreme depth they are near impossible to defeat.
