It's clearly the straw that broke the camel's back. Everyone has their breaking point. When white supremacists that protest are called, "fine upstanding individuals" by the president, yet blacks that silently and non-violently protest are called profane names by that same president, well...it seems that he is proving their point.

I believe Plato's Closet has a whole business model on people not donating clothes. I believe EBay has a whole section of clothes for sale. I assume somebody is selling clothes.

That's where the media has gotten lazy through all of this. I seriously doubt they've asked each individual who's done it. And unfortunately, for you and I (as John or Susie Q Public), we don't have the access to the athletes like the media does, to ask them ourselves. So, we're left with what the media gives us, which is more than likely everyone just lumped together.

 

Personally, I believe that this past week was more about showing unity/solidarity with your teammates who were previously protesting, and were called SOB's by the president.

I’m not sure I’m any closer to understanding the tangent you’re on. My point was if the folks complaining were so interested in supporting veterans, maybe they should donate the clothing rather than burn it....actually walk the walk.

As a veteran who has seen men and women come home draped with the flag, it is disrespectful to me for them to kneel especially after Kap wore socks depicting cops as pigs and wore a shirt suppporting Castro.

 

It is the times we are living in. Most people these days have been handed life on a silver platter and do not know real sacrifice for the common good. They only know sacrifice for themselves.

 

I'm a huge fan of the NFL, but did not watch this weekend and will not moving forward.

 

I feel unwanted and taken for granted by these actions.

That's not exactly what I said, is it? You keep deflecting this particular topic. We are talking about people choosing to burn clothing. My comment was about not understanding why people choose to burn or throw away clothing. Are you sure that you know what happens at a yard sale?

The reason that I feel that way is because it is quiet and does not disturb others. It would not interfere with my enjoyment of the Anthem in any way. I've seen people chomp on gum loudly, rolling their eyes, but hey...at least they were standing, right? So, too, are those talking on their phones or watching videos. I could go on, but I won't.

Really? Plato's Closet burns or throws away clothes? Because that's what my post was about. These people didn't sell their items to Plato's Closet. They burned them.
